You need to call the MVC to check, but as long as you don't have a warrant it should not cause a problem in getting your license in NJ

If the summons is in his name he needs to go to court, but if you want to give him a good defense you will go with him and you both will have a lawyer if it is a serious ticket. I suggest that you set up one of the free in office consultations that must of us traffic ticket lawyers offer.

For court you need to file a discovery demand for the information in regards to your speeding ticket not an opera request. As for the information that you need, that would depend on the defense you intend to use.

The officer is not required to put on the ticket how your speed was measured. Thus that will not dismiss the ticket. Parent guardian(s) or dependent(s) are allowed as passengers. A dependent is a permit or probationary driver's child, not siblings.

Only one additional passenger is allowed unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you were not holding the phone and your friend was definitely fight this and go to court, just remember to bring your friend with you.
