If it is a wrongful death claim (I don't know from the facts you give) then your father's spouse will bring the claim, but she must divide the money with all the children. If it is a personal injury claim, then the money goes into your Dad's estate for distribution in accordance with... View More

Q: Can you sew someone on something that happened 10 years ago after the settlement?

Someone killed my daughter in a car accident 10 years ago and at the time the last thing I was worried about was money. They paid for her tomb stone and nothing more. Things haven't been the same since. She didn't even go to jail.

The statute of limitations, generally, is 2 years. Some entities, like State agencies or county or city government agencies, must be given a notice called ante litem notice.

Had you contacted a personal injury lawyer, back within that time frame, you possibly had a claim.

This is not a wrongful death case. That pertains to persons, and from some accident or negligent act of another.

Your question presupposes lots of things that may not be facts, but just conjecture. If your father has been abused by anyone, he has a claim against thst person. You do not.

You may not be able to get any lawyer to file suit. The statute of limitations is 2 years. But, with not forensic proof or doctor who saw him to say their fault, you likely lose.

Q: Can I sue an animal hosp.if they didnt follow protocol with a preg.dog that was "DOA" and I told them to save the pups?

You can only get the market value of the pups if you can prove they would have survived had the hospital used extreme measures--which requires expert testimony that will cost you more than the market value of the dogs. Sorry, but time to let go of this one.

Do not respond to this, and don't discuss more on social media.

If it's a mistrial it would either be set for retrial or either party may request in most states. I assume you had an attorney--you should speak with them.

If none of the above has been done, and the case is ended, you can't refile.

Depends on what it's for. If its for a car wreck run it through your insurance. If it's an injury at home run it through your homeowners. Otherwise protect yourself by filing bankruptcy. Contact a good bankruptcy attorney via www.naca.net

You'd have a good chance of being sued, especially it it turned out the guy was unarmed, like the trick or treater someone shot. Whether they would win is a bit different but I'd plan on keeping my homeonwers, maybe up the protection.

I don't see a case there. He was asked to leave--which didn't mean that second. He dies thereafter. There has to be a legal duty by one person to another, that is not met or is breached, and that breach causes the death. The landlord owed no duty to your son that was violated that I see....
