Can i speek for myself with out wavering my right to an attorney?

There are lots of different types of Waivers. Typically, you can represent yourself without waiving your right to an attorney. However, you likely should not do that. Best of luck.
Citation, failure to reduce speed, has already been settled in court and given 40 days to pay before the shut down..

Under normal circumstances a Failure to Reduce Speed ticket should likely have been dismissed (meaning there would be nothing for you to have to pay) so if you handled this yourself - odds are you didn't do it right. If you do not pay, yes a $200 penalty will likely apply and DMV will be... View More

Being able to get your license depends, of course, upon your eligibility for reinstatement with the DMV. Now, if you're waiting on a DMV hearing, that usually means that you have a current set or permanent suspension suspending your privileges, thus you'd need to have the hearing and win... View More
I’m 24 and until last month have never had a ticket of any kind or ever even been pulled over. Last month Around 2/12 I got a speeding ticket on the highway for going 81 in a 65. Earlier tonight I was driving back home from purchasing a new car which is much faster than the current one I own.... View More

GOOD QUESTION
While clearly disconcerting, there may be legal options available.
I think the smart thing to do is to retain legal counsel immediately.

Got me going 70 in a 55. I’ve read online that I may not have to pay anything as I am a first time offender, as long as I go to driving school. Is this true?
answered on Mar 5, 2020
Of course, it's not true. You think driving school is free? Even if you go to court yourself and get approved for driving school, you still have to pay the court cost and fine - typically $263 plus the cost of driving school and you had to waste all your time in court and driving school -... are several handicap spaces. My car was parked in one of them when it was towed. I have a handicapped displayed on my rear view mirror. Is that a legal tow?
answered on Feb 26, 2020
According to you - you need a sticker in addition to a handicapped plate or placard. If you didn't have a sticker it is likely a proper tow.
I was wondering as a 24 y.o. male what is the best next step I should take when I arrive at the court? And can it be lowered?
answered on Feb 20, 2020
The best next step is to hire a local traffic attorney and not go to court and try and handle this yourself. Look at it this way, if you aren't a mechanic would you ever think to just go and crack into your car's transmission and try and rebuild that bad boy? It's the same for... View More
the ticket was 91 in a 65 the first time and now this time it's a 74 in a 45.

If one was 91/65 and the other was 74/45 - then they aren't the same now are they? And since you have two citations, it is pretty obvious you not only can be but were in fact charged with both and if you keep driving the way these offices have alleged you were driving, you are going to get... As long as you can be identified in some way, yes the ticket is likely valid and any incorrect information can simply be amended by the ADA. However, ff everything is wrong including the name and license number, you may be able to just ignore the ticket. You will know if you have been identified... View More

If you have already hired an attorney, the logical thing for you to do would be to call the attorney you hired. Asking questions on a public forum like this kinda defeats the purpose of having hired an attorney. As to whether the warrant is still active - sometimes they are stricken prior to the... View More
I got a ticket in Cabarrus County Nortch Carolina. I am recently moved here for CA. In CA we could take a driving class so ticket wouldn't show on record. Can we do that in North Carolina?
answered on Feb 10, 2020
Cabarrus County’s DA’s Office doesn’t accept driving school for reductions or dismissals. The available option in Cabarrus County is a reduction, either to a lesser speed, or to a non-moving violation such as Improper Equipment, all of which depends on your prior driving history. I was traveling 60 in a 45mph zone (thought it was posted as a 55) my dilemma is I haven't settled on an attorney in which I want to hire, mostly financial reasons at the moment. I was curious to see how I should address my need to the da or judge. Thank you

There are likely plenty of local attorneys who would have worked with you regarding payment. If the address on your ticket is correct, I am sure you received a crap ton of letters from them so you shouldn't have even had to leave you house to shop around. So this smells like procrastination... View More

Let's just get things nice and sparkling clear. Because you very clearly have a few wrong ideas here. First, you weren't stopped for a suspended license - you were likely stopped for something else and then the issue of a potential suspend license came up. Second, the charge you... View More

Depends on what you mean by "on a 2 lane with a turn lane'. If you mean there were two lanes in your direction of travel, a turn lane in the middle and two lanes in the other direction of travel with the school bus stopped in the opposite direction of travel - then you have no obligation... Sure, do what he should have done 20 years ago. Hire a local traffic attorney to make sure the ticket is taken care of properly. Just 'paying it off' is almost always a giant mistake.

If you don't transfer title within 28 days after sale of vehicle, NC G.S. 20-73 seems to indicate you are guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor. answered on Jan 23, 2020
No, you do not just 'magically' get a class 2 misdemeanor tacked onto your record. You'd have to be formally charged and then convicted and most DA's aren't interested in prosecuting someone who didn't realize they need to do a title transfer. If you go take care of... View More
