Lawyer said I have to wait for uninsured motorist fund to cut me a check. Basically told me i was on a list and when my number comes my settlement comes.
The judge awarded me 27,000.
I have been waiting forever and I was hoping I could do one of those "it's my money and I need it now" places

I have never heard of such a thing that "your check will be cut when your number comes up."
In NJ, the practice is that the insurance company has to send the check within 30 days.
I think you should request an explanation in writing from your attorney as to what happenmded... View More

Did you get your uninsured motorist settlement as a "structured settlement"?
I was pulled over for speeding in Jersey as stated by the officer 19:9-1.2 .39 but ticketed for 3 other offenses 39:4-96, 19:9-1.3c, 39:4-88A. Two are payable the other two I have to appear in court. What would you recommend I do? Pay the two or just wait until my court date to see what happen also... View More

These are both NJ Turnpike violations and NJ Statutory violations.
39:4-96 is reckless driving- 5 points. 39:4-88b - 2 points. Don't know offhand about 19:9-1.2.39-sounds like speeding.
I strongly advise you to get a lawyer.
I wouldn't pay any of them now. Deal with all at once.
I am a college student, at the scene of the accident they drove off with minimal damage to their vehicle and the police report says minimal damage.

If you had laibility insruance at the time of the accident, turn this demand over to them.
If you did not have liability insurance at the time, you should speak with a lawyer about your rights.

I am sorry to hear of your son's passing.
If he died without having made a Will (most 19 year-olds do not have a Will), then any settlement will be distributed in the way prescribed under the NJ Intestacy Statute. Under that statute, the money first goes to the parents. The takeaway... View More

Hi there, I would need a lot more information before answering this question.
An off duty officer cut me off, i maintained my speed next thing i know I'm getting pulled over. Apparently it was the chief of police and he had someone come who didn't even see what happened to give me a ticket.
answered on Sep 3, 2020
You don't state what ticket you were given. Regardless, especially since it is the Chief of Police as a witness, you should get a lawyer. The case might have to be referred to another town.
someone hit my parked car on june 22nd 2020 and their insurance company wrote my car off as a total loss, but is giving me next to nothing for my car. Should I hire a lawyer to get more money out of them?
answered on Aug 10, 2020
NJ law provides that you are entitled to the fair market value of the vehicle on that date of the accident.
Check some of the online sites like Edmunds.com or autotrader.com to see if the other insurance company is in the ballpark. Better off resolving this without a lawyer due to the cost.

When I was under my car, one of scissors jack suddenly broke down and my car came down on my arm. I got injured I can barely move my arm. Do you think I can sue this scissors jack company? If so, do I need a police report and receipt when I purchased?
answered on Jul 6, 2020
The first question any personal urinary attorney will ask is-do you have the scissor jack. The reasoning is to determine if there is a product defect. This can only be determined if an appropriate engineer can examine it and determine why it failed. The 1st thing the product manufacture is going to... View More

I would speak with a lawyer, who can contact the court clerk and prosecutor, and resolve your case and move it ahead on the docket with a guilty plea by affidavit, where there is no live court appearance.

After hitting another car , they requested not to call the police and left the scene. My car has no damage but the other drivers car has minor damages . Can she sue me after ?
answered on Jun 11, 2020
One can easily be liable without calling the police. I'm not sure from the description if you were innocent or at fault, but it is best to report this accident to your insurgence company.

if you don't have collision on your own auto policy and someone hits the rental car and damages it, the dealer's insurance company will pay to repair the car.
