i got ticket 9-21-5-11(c)(2) for workzone speeding in the state of Indiana. The ticket said i was going 90 in a 55, but i had my cruise control set to 80. I have not plead guilty or not guilty, but am waiting for my court hearing. What is the best way to go about the hearing?

This should be directed to an Indiana attorney for specifics, but in general, I was speeding, but I wasn’t speeding as fast as a claim is not a good defense.
Secretary of State didn’t remove the lease off the plates. I was wondering if I can avoid the ticket.

answered on Jan 9, 2024
Yes, it’s possible to avoid the ticket depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to: where you received the ticket, whether you have proof of compliance, driving record and other factors. I recommend contacting an attorney who can explain further.
Thanks
I've never received a ticket before and I'm not from the area. I was out on my lunch break in a car rental and I needed gps. I was not distracted at all. I just didn't have a place to put my phone while on gps.
Ahead but saw they were there and breaked too late, I got a ticket for “ driving too fast” and I don’t have to appear in court. It was a minor hit, my car didn’t get damaged and the other car got a slight dent and some scratches from my license plate. Should I plea guilty ?

If you plead guilty, without appearing in court (ie paying the ticket), it will be a conviction on your driving record and may affect your insurance, and potentially cause other problems. I would recommend speaking to a lawyer to see if you can have it dismissed or if you are eligible for court... View More

Those are usually must appear tickets. He should plan to be there and hire a traffic lawyer. He MIGHT be able to appear by Zoom and not have to physically be present. The circuit/district clerk in that county could tell you
Registration suspended, due to driving without insurance. Due to my driving record, I can not find an insurance company to accept me, except for one where the premium is $900, which I can not afford.

Get a ride, use public transportation, get a work from home job, get a bike. Do anything but drive. You cannot drive if your license is suspended.

In traffic cases, there are court fees and costs that are added to your fines. These will vary from county to county and include the costs of court administration and in some counties, "contributions" to certain funds and endowments. Unfortunately, these are mandatory and will not be... View More
There has been no court date set. I got the ticket today(10/08/2023). This happened in Lincolnwood, IL. The court is in the 2nd Municipal District of the circuit court of cook county, Illinois. I have a pretty clean record. Zero speeding tickets

Even though you were ticketed for going 23 MPH over the posted limit, this is still considered a petty offense, which is punishable by fines only. If you have a clean driving record, you will likely be eligible for court supervision, which would not put any points on your driving record and usually... View More

He can file a motion for pretrial discovery of the video.

The DMV is required to verify it and suspends your license if you do not comply. There is not ongoing communication with the court system, but the state keeps track of your license and that information is submitted to the court when you are

I went on yellow/orange. What could I say in court? If I plead not guilty and proven wrong is there an extra fee? Is it better to go with a jury or judge?

answered on Sep 27, 2023
If you plead not guilty, you can present your case in court, possibly including any evidence or witnesses that support your claim that you did not run a red light. If you are found guilty after pleading not guilty, there may be court costs in addition to the original fine. Whether to opt for a jury... View More

Illinois has a 2 year statute of limitations for motor vehicle accidents, without taking exceptions into account. So long as the civil suit was filed on or before the 2 year anniversary of the accident, the case will remain in court until it comes to a resolution. A resolution to the civil case... View More

So long as the delay in his completion of the defensive driving class was out of his control (i.e. no classes available), the court should be willing to continue the matter. What he wants to avoid is having the court grant a "Petition to Revoke" his original sentence, as he could then... View More
On the ticket it says I was going 35 miles above the speed limit. I don’t think this is accurate and the officers did not have evidence for this. But I did accept that I was speeding but I did not mention how fast I was going. Is there anything I can do to get this changed?

This is one of those things that really depends upon the court system you are involved with. Some judges and prosecutors are rigid and others will compromise. Locate a lawyer in the county where you received the ticket, who appears regularly in traffic court. Right now, if you plead, guilty, it is... View More
Court Supervision on the first, optional court date will be in September 2023 in which I'm think I must attend, and I use my phone for Uber. Any way I can retain my supervision???

answered on Aug 15, 2023
A ticket while you are in supervision does not automatically cause loss of the supervision. The prosecutor must be aware of it, and must file papers to revoke the first supervision.
Most of the time on these minor offenses, they do not revoke and might even give you supervision again for... View More

Most policies give you 7-30 days to report a replacement vehicle. Not sure how that works with a motorcycle. Not clear what you mean by your insurance "would not cover me" when later you seem to be asking if they will cover you.
I was just wondering if this is a moving violation
