It does sound like you have a lot going on. You should consult with an attorney who can review the case in detail and provide you with guidance. If you can’t afford an attorney try contacting Legal Aid to see if you qualify for assistance.
I called dfcs for assistance and explained how I had nothing and nobody to help me after losing my car and having to quit my job no daycare choices for my hours. Mentally I became worse the more they tries to "help" to where I responded I rather die before you continue embarrassing me.... View More

I'm a single mother with 3 children. Their father has been incarcerated since 2015. He is serving a sentence of life without parole. I have not been able to find any information about programs that might provide any kind of financial support.

Depending on your income, you may be able to qualify for some federally funded assistance programs. You can find information about them here. Some allow you to apply online. If you are approved you can get financial help in the form of cash, help purchasing food, health insurance, and more.... View More
The parent would be willing to allow the child to live on their own, so the parent would be willing to pay for the child’s needs such as food and housing

Once a child is legally emancipated, he or she will be expected to provide for themselves. In fact, before approving emancipation, a court will determine whether the minor has the ability to take care for themselves. This is just one of many factors the Court will take into consideration.
I had my baby when I was still a minor and we’re not nor ever were married. He didn’t wanna sign the birth certificate since the baby didn’t get his last name so he’s not even on his certificate. He barley sees him and doesn’t contribute towards him at all. As of now it’s just taking... View More

Based on the limited facts provided, it appears the biological father has not legitimized his relationship with the child (i.e. the biological father has not taken the necessary legal steps to be considered the legal father). If that is the case, you would have sole legal and physical custody of... View More
Me and my husband have been separated and he knows the child isn't his in the state of Georgia do you need a childs information for a divorce even if we were separated when the child was conceived? Needing to know asap

Based on the limited facts you provided, the short answer is no. If your husband has not legitimized or adopted the child, then he is not the legal father and custody/child support would not be handled in your divorce proceedings. However, you should consult a lawyer to better understand the facts... View More
My mother lied multiple times on a petition to take my kids. She said I abandoned my kids when I did not. She kicked me out and I let my kids stay with her to have consistency but I was there every day with them, picking them up from school and caring for them until they went to bed. And on... View More

This boils down to an evidentiary question. Contest your mom's allegations with your own evidence (i.e. witnesses, phone records, etc.) in court and it is up to the judge or jury to determine what is credible evidence and therefore "fact." Remember, petitions merely consist of good... View More
My support order was pushed back another year and half until the judge finally put the order in. Now I am being denied retroactive support even when Covid is the reason.

No. A private attorney can often obtain a child support more quickly, but you can't collect support from before the order was entered.

No.
I'm not familiar with the child support laws in AL but it seems that child support is determined by how many minors and both parent's income. Is that correct? So if I have a client who is getting $500 for two kids, the youngest kid is 10 and the oldest is 17. So will child support be... View More

Unless the order specifically states that the support will drop to a certain number when one child ages out, the support continues at the current number until the 2nd child ages out. In most cases, this isn't a problem because the person paying child support may be earning more money, so the... View More

It depends on the income of the parents. If both parents have similar income then an award of support from one parent to the other for each child will cancel itself out. If one parent has significantly more income than the other parent, then the parent with more income can be ordered to pay... View More

Me and my ex Divorce agreement we are splitting our medical bills 50%
But she refuses to reimburse me for my half if i pay the bill.
Can I deduct med bill from her child support?
answered on Feb 14, 2022
No you can not. You need to pay full child support and then pursue the medical bill or offset it against medical bills that you owe.

That would likely be a conflict of interest, and that attorney would not be permitted to represent you.
