Louisiana child support ends at 18 or high school graduation which ever comes last but no later than age 19.
If I ask him if he is gonna pay any support this month. He texts me and says stop harassing him. And that I have been warned. I asked him once on the last day Of the month. I have a judgement for 650 a month. And he feels he shouldn’t have to pay.

Is that even possible being that he doesn't have any legal source of income ? And do the child support case worker help you set up days for visitation?

Support Enforcement will impute minimum wage to him and no they have nothing to do with visitation.

If your child was born after his adult children, then your child stands in line behind the adult children, but ahead of other creditor garnishments.
I have been to court and have been paying at the beginning of each month directly to my daughters mother. Do I have until the end of each month to make payments?
answered on Feb 27, 2019
It depends on the order in your case. Do not pay the mother directly by and means except check or direct deposit.
He will get land and money from his grandparents after they pass and we were told with the judgement that it would hold a lean on this.
answered on Feb 25, 2019
Your lawyer first needs to make an arrears judgment executor. Then your lawyer needs to renew that judgment every 10 years. Finally, when his grandparents die your lawyer can put a lien on the succession.
Noncustodial parent has an open child support case separate from mine. And he no longer lives in the state. Is it likely that child support enforcement can establish paternity involuntarily

My ex and I have had bad luck coming to agreements in the past, but all of that changed. We are in the process of changing our custody to make him the domicile. I also wajt to forgive all child support, future and past. He was found in contempt of non payment, that I filed for, last year. Since... View More

That can be done in the judgment changing custody. It would just need to specify that any and all arrearage is satisfied and/or forgiven. I would suggest having an attorney prepare a voluntary transfer of custody. Give me a call and I'll be happy to discuss the process and potential costs,... View More

You can't relocate your child out of Louisiana without the consent of the other parent or a court order.
We have been paying child support for years and the twin boys are 17 years old now. The mom is filling and judgement for Retro Pay. Does this mean she can continue to collect until after the boys are 18 years of age. One of the twins has a mild case of Autism.

If you ever fell behind, she can get that missed child support even after the kids have turned 18 and graduated from high school.
I am divorcing my second wife and we have one child. I have a child from my first marriage that lives with me full time. Does this affect the child support payment for my second child that will not be with me full time? I am in Ascension Parish, Louisiana

Hire a custody attorney to seek custody and termination of child support.
they graduate in 2020, will I have to go back to court? I assume their mother will file something if allowed. Will they just extend it? Are they allowed to change the amount if it was changed last year?
answered on Jan 8, 2019
It sounds like they turn 18 Mar 2019 but don't graduate until May 2020. You must pay child support for them until May 2020. If you have other kids, your attorney will need to file for a decrease. If you have a wage assignment, your attorney will have to file for a decrease or termination.
I was advised that my fiance and I should get a prenup once we are married to protect her from any subsequent child support proceedings... But I don't exactly know what a prenup is nor what it does.
answered on Jan 7, 2019
A prenuptial is before you are married. A postnuptial is after you are married. A post nuptial requires a court appearance. A prenuptial agreement does not. Then the baby's mother cannot claim you are benefitting from your spouse's income or assets. Without it, she can.
My wife was “ordered” to pay child support but we didn’t consent to order because it’s false information about her wages (among other things) on it. We were told one thing by the ex (he’s a cop) and his lawyer and they went to the hearing officer and said we consented to something... View More
