You have the right to represent yourself, but unless you comply with the local court rules, rules of civil procedure, and relevant statutes, you will quickly find the experience to be a frustrating one. It might cost you more in the long run not to have hired a good attorney at the outset.
We just purchased a used car in Missouri from a dealership. Within a couple hours after turning the car on, the light that says airbag failure is on. Is this something that the dealership should have disclosed or that they should have known based on the inspection laws in Missouri?
The challenge you might face is proving that the dealership knew of the problem and made a misrepresentation to you. If you can prove this, you might have a decent claim under Missouri's consumer fraud statute, the Merchandising Practices Act. Contact a local attorney to discuss.

The answer to your question depends on what the evidence is that you were acting disorderly. The facts of your situation and the evidence the prosecutor intends to rely on should be compared with the language in the specific ordinance or statute you are accused of violating.
There is absolutely no set answer. Typically, if you are one of the first people to file suit against a company for a defective product, the company may resist the claim and your lawyer will have to file suit and it can be quite a lengthy process. If a company has lost a few similar claims it may...Read more »
