Contact the court in the Connecticut town where you were issued the ticket and if you don't remember then contact NJMVC and they should tell you but if they don't know then your last stop would be CT Motor Vehicle. Good luck!

What should i do? It makes no sense as to why the officer gave me a ticket that isn’t mine. Does that mean i didn’t actually get a ticket?

Worst thing you can do is speak. You'll think you're talking yourself out of trouble while you're sinking. You have right to remain silent and right to an attorney. Use your rights!

30 days for you to receive the ticket. Once you did then there's no statute it's speedy trial rights. However, my guess is that you absconded which tolls your rights. If there's a warrant out for you and you have to post bail then this defense won't work.

You have a defense but it's difficult and depends on many other factors such as weather, time, engine on and hot etc... Even if not driving they can prove intent to operate based on the facts but generally this is a good defense so you should definitely hire an attorney in this field who knows... View More

Yes you are absolutely at risk and you should get a criminal defense attorney for the criminal case and an immigration lawyer for the immigration consequences to guide the criminal lawyer on how to structure the deal better to potentially avoid immigration consequences in criminal court.
