There are couple different reasons this could happen. One is if you receive a citation for driving without insurance or with suspended registration. A conviction in either case could lead to a license suspension.

Or, insurance companies are required to notify PennDOT of a lapse in your...

A little bit more information would be needed to provide you with good advice. That said, the penalty for this citation would be a fine and 4 points on your license. If you have a CDL it would also cause that to be revoked for a period of time. You should plead not guilty and then find a criminal... View More

You should do what you can ahead of your trial to have your licensing issue resolved. This offense carries only a fine, but a hefty fine of $200 plus court costs. Also, if you've been convicted of this same offense in the last 5 years, your license will be suspended for 6 months. If... View More

Based on what you've described, if you do receive a citation it will likely be a summary offense and points and on your license as opposed to more serious criminal charges. If you do receive a citation or if the police do contact you, you should reach out to an attorney for a consultation.

If you didn't have a CDL, I would have told you that you don't need to worry about points transferring to your PA license. Pennsylvania would take no action on any points you may receive in VA. The only concern I have is whether that offense in VA is considered a "serious traffic... View More

You may be able to contact the court and ask them to change the plea. Some courts will allow you to send an email or a fax to their office asking that your plea be changed to guilty - they're going to want something from you in writing indicating that you wish to plead guilty.
