I want to change my status through my husband who is currently in the process of filing for naturalisation. What should I do since the passport is not South African
answered on Sep 29, 2015
What is your husband's immigration status? Is he an American citizen? if yes he will be able to file a petition for you to become a permanent resident. You should talk to an immigration attorney in private to help you with this process. All the best.

answered on Sep 16, 2015
I strongly urge the two of you to get an immigration attorney ASAP. Having entered the country on an F1, not having attended school, and now trying to adjust to permanent residence status could certainly be a problem. It is important to flesh out what this "sponsorship issue" was and how... View More

answered on Aug 30, 2015
Probably not. H1-B Visas require a demonstration that you have some skill the employer needs and has trouble finding. Thus, you have to work in your field. Work as a mechanical engineer would work, but working in a store will not.... View More

As a permanent resident, you now have an eligible visa type to be considered a resident. However, there are other criteria which must be met. You are likely considered an "independent student" right now. Read this: http://registrar.osu.edu/Residency/independent_students.asp

My U.S. citizen brother filed for green card in 2013. I want to take break from my phd as I am pregnant and have high risk pregnancy. I can have medical leave but I want longer break. What are my options? Can I apply for v visa?

The V visa is only available to a spouse, child, or step child. Also, you are walking a fine line with the F1 and a pending I-130. You really ought to involve an immigration attorney.

You may want to apply for asylum here in the US or in Europe. If you cannot afford an attorney, contact your local Legal Aid Society for help. You should be able to find them on Google.

You must be able to show that you have met in person in the last two years or that the customs of your religion or culture are the reason that you have not met in order to get the visa.

Why do you want to get deported? Why not just leave. You can always leave. If you get deported, there will be a time period you cannot come back.
