Long story short my children were screaming so my husband used all strength to open both doors from the inside; we were off level and had to jump down. My 6yr old daughter is still having nightmares about it and there was very little compassion. Do we have a case? This happened in Dearborn, Michigan

Unless the building owner knew there was an issue, generally no. I would suggest you contact a member of the Michigan Assn for Justice to check.

We have a pitbull and luckily they haven't been outside together, but we have watched our neighbor's dog jump into our fenced-in yard multiple times. What can we do (legally) other than ask the neighbor to watch their dogs?

As the owner of pit bull, you are a vulnerable target for a lawsuit if something bad happens. You should consider whether the fence should be taller. You might also advise the neighbor of your concern. Perhaps the neighbor might want to install a taller fence. Check with your homeowner... View More

Unfortunately, you need to provide a lot more facts to determine who would be primarily liable for the collision. If the employee was in the "coming and going" rule, then he/she may be personally liable for the collision. If the employee had already started working that day and was just... View More

The statute of limitations for Ohio Workers' compensation claims depends somewhat on when the last activity was on the claim. You should contact a licensed attorney to discuss some specifics and they can give you a better idea of whether the claim is still active or barred due to inactivity.

One option you have is to contact a workers' compensation attorney in Ohio. The process involves strict deadlines and can be complex. You could also repost your question in the Workers' Comp category (it is posted under Personal Injury), where some very experienced WC attorneys on this... View More

You could ask them not to do that. Or you could talk to their parents or call the police and file a report. But depending on the age of the kids, they might retaliate in some way.
I’ve been seeing a doctor for at least 12 years due to back, neck, hips, knee pain. I’ve had major back surgery in 2009....rod plus screws. I’ve had my thumb fused. This doctor put me on 3 neurontin a day when I first saw him, and 4 Vicodin’s a day also. Eventually the neurontin went up to... View More

If you have concerns about the sudden changes, try seeing another pain management specialist for a second opinion. However, it certainly is a new trend to decrease the use of pain medications.

If it is not on-line now, I would probably move on. Litigating the issue may cost you more than $20,000.00.

If you co-sign a loan, you’re in the hook for the loan, not any accidents he may get into with the car he buys with the loan proceeds. First you can't force a doctor to treat you. Suggest you look for a clinic and see if there is a health advisor who can tell you about the resources you have. My understanding--and I am not a doctor--is that you will not die. You may have a number of issues but death is not necessarily one of... View More

You could potentially still file a claim for workers' compensation against your employer. You should speak with a workers' compensation attorney to see if you have a viable case.

You would look it up by the name of the person or business bringing the case, which would be the easiest. If the defendant is a large corporation or the government, there could be thousands of cases. You can try online but best bet would be to stop in at the clerks office.
