you need to get a lawyer in mississippi and timely respond. if you do not she will take a default judgment against you. she will then have that judgment domesticated in ohio or wherever you have assets or earnings and then attach those. DEFINITELY do not ignore it.

the lawyer probably said "ERISA." this is a self funded retirement and benefit fund. your dad probably had an injury case which was settled and his lawyer is trying to negotiate the medical liens. erisa liens are governed by federal law and are more difficult to negotiate than others.

I am a defendant in a law suite filed for lead paint poisoning on a child. He filed suite against me on his 21st birthdad that was 11/29/2010. Can he now amend the complaint to include my wife after the statute of limitation has run out?
answered on Jul 5, 2011
the law of the state where the suit or where the alleged misconduct occurred will govern. I dont know maryland law but it depends on the allegation against your wife and her involvement in the alleged incident. statutes of limitations generally have exceptions that are spelled out by the state law.
