Q: Hello my son father was court ordered to pay child support 17months ago and he never made a payment but he's still work

I filed through the state with no attorney. Child support office is claiming they can't find out where he work. He's a truck driver with cdl and they still haven't suspended his license with 20k in arrears. If his license is threatened to be suspended he'll pay.

Your choice is to wait until the State gets on it or hire a private attorney.

Q: My daughter turns 18 6 months before she graduates from high school. Doesnt child support have to continue?

He says he is going to send the checks directly to her and not to me anymore because she will be 18. But she will still be under my roof and under my care exclusively (she has been living with only me for 5 years).

He has to send the check to you UNTIL SHE GRADUATES OR TURNS 18 WHICHEVER COMES LAST, but not later than 19 and not if he can prove she doesn't live with you.

Contact the district attorney for your parish to file for contempt. If he hasn't paid in 6 years, you have 4 more years to do this. After that you start to lose money.
