An Ohio attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. It would depend on the policy of your son's girlfriend's mom's car, and a number of other factors. There are a number of different combinations here, depending on who was at fault, the respective... View More

You may have a claim for bad-faith insurance coverage against met-life for refusing coverage. This can result in hefty punitive damages and attorney fees for refusing to reasonably provide insurance coverage.
car got stolen & totaled, my insurance co paid me a month ago, now says that it was in error that it should have went to finance company instead. i have spent the majority of the money. what can I do legally? can they prosecute me?
answered on Aug 23, 2023
They probably cannot legally prosecute you but you remain liable to your finance company for the balance owed on the car.
Does having a higher Umbrella limit make me a target for a larger settlement after an accident? Is this a State by State Law and if so, is there a good source to check?
answered on Mar 5, 2023
An Ohio attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for four weeks. Until you are able to consult definitively with a local attorney, your carrier might be able to provide guidance on this. Case law on disclosure could differ by state - but carriers nationwide are attentive to the... View More
While under contract for sale, pipes froze and burst causing extensive damage (we had already relocated so it was not caught immediately.) The buyer went through with the sale but at a $25k reduction in price. Can I ask my home insurance company to compensate me for this loss in value?
answered on Dec 30, 2022
Whoever owned the home at the time of the damage turns in a claim to their insurance company.
Lapse in policy change 9yrs ago and she was never notified of any lapse or lack of home insurance. Progressive says they can’t locate the original policy and won’t back pay her or give her the insurance she’s paid for 9yrs straight.

You likely have a bad-faith claim against your insurer. They cannot both take the money under the policy and claim that there is no enforceable policy.
I was in an auto accident 4 months ago.. The other man was at fault, but did not file a claim (I was just informed of this) for 4 months I have not had a reliable vehicle, nor have repairs been made by our insurance due to no collision policy. Our insurance did send the adverse carrier 4 demand... View More

Auto insurance is tricky. You don't have a claim against his insurance company. You have a claim against him. He has a claim against his insurance company if they refuse to pay you on his behalf. Your insurance company has no claim against anyone, because you did not have collision coverage.... View More
Will he have to show proof of insurance in court or will it be thrown out? There were no injuries but both cars totaled. The ticket said the offense was "stop sign". It also says he does not need to appear in person. Can this be thrown out without showing proof of insurance?
answered on Feb 2, 2022
Tickets with incorrect names on them do not get thrown out. They get corrected. He is going to get a license suspension from the BMV for not having insurance.
We had purchased it together when my daughter was younger, 2 yrs ago her mama said she dropped it. I am having to pay all of my daughter's debts while her grandmother gets the life insurancepolicy
answered on Apr 19, 2021
It's a little unclear what happened here, but it sounds to me like grandma bought a policy with you as beneficiary, later canceled that policy, and bought a new one with her as beneficiary. If that's the case, its her money. Were you paying any premiums? Do you have the policy documents?
My cousin passed away from cancer. Over 1 year later, his wife received a Bill from a large cancer treatment center. She had great insurance. He was receiving experimental treatment. The bill was denied because it was above usual and customary. $71,000
answered on Jan 23, 2021
According to recent Ohio case law, a creditor must deliver their claim to the estate's representative within 6 months of date of death. The cancer treatment center's claim should be denied.
Is there statute of limitations no other case required me to carry a sr-22 there hasn’t been any other offenses since 2010 no felony cases
answered on Dec 14, 2020
Statutes of limitations are time limits on the government bringing a case against you. They have nothing to do with the consequences once that occurs.

An Ohio attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. It could depend on your capacity and role in the matter. If you are insured by a carrier, you may want to consult with their examiner or attorney for guidance. Good luck

An Ohio attorney is best qualified to answer your question, but you await a response for four weeks. As a GENERAL premise, absent any statutory requirements, it would probably be a reasonable time. The underlying principle is that a party against whom a claim is made should have opportunity to... View More

Neither I nor my therapist realized that this change made her out of network as many of her patients have the same employer as I and I found her through my old insurance which was provided by the same... Your employer will not be liable to pay or waive the expense. It is your responsibility to ensure that your health care providers are covered under your employer's insurance plan. You can ask if your therapist or your insurance company is willing to work with you on payments.

It sounds like something your employer put in manually. It is not a standard abbreviation used on paystubs. I would ask you HR department.
I was involved in a not at fault accident on 08/17/2019 can i send the demand letter then after that is sent go to my primary doctor for my injuries from the accident?
answered on Sep 28, 2019
An Ohio attorney would know best about any applicable state laws here. But your question remains open for three weeks. As a general matter, there isn't anything to stop a claimant from doing that. But a fundamental issue that could confront such a claimant if the visit to the primary doctor is... View More

You don’t have to provide her with insurance but just not paying for it knowing she’s going to drive isn’t the best plan. First, it won’t get you off the hook for the loan. Second, it won’t cause the financing company to repossess the car. Third, if she wrecks without insurance, she could... View More
My mom is 70 years old and had let her insurance lapse (I had no idea it had). Apparently it has been a few months. I know that it is illegal to drive without insurance. This had also happened about 7 years ago too. I thought that she was on the straight and narrow and was keeping her insurance... View More

No jail. I'm assuming you had an accident. The other person or their insurance will ask for her insurance. If she doesn't have any they'll ask her to pay. It may be to her advantage NOT TO MAKE ANY AGREEMENT TO DO SO because she may be "judgement proof." It really makes... View More
