You need to go get an Ohio license as you have lived in the state for more than 90 days.
Was not informed my license was suspended

If you can obtain a valid driver's license and insurance before court, it will go a long way to making it easy to resolve the case.

Without examining the ticket, it is hard to say. But if you are wondering if you can be ticketed after the fact, yes you can.
They issued a warrant but told him over the phone he just needs to come to the court to receive the indictment and set a court date and he won't be arrested at that time, is this true or a trick? Also, what should he do concerning going forward with the charge/indictment? The case was closed,... View More

Your son should hire a local defense attorney and follow his or her advice. The statute of limitations on a felony charge is 6 years so while 2 seems like a long time, it is far from being precluded.
I got a ticket for suspened license non-compliance

answered on Nov 4, 2022
Yes. It's an M1 which carries a maximum sentence of 180 days jail. That said, very few people go to jail over DUS charges.
My son have accidents and he is 17 years but the cop put my name by mistake and use whiteout on the ticket.
I wasn’t able to show proof during my traffic stop, officer told me to provide proof when I pay my ticket. I got insurance after the fact, how will that effect what happens when I go to pay my ticket?

answered on Oct 11, 2022
If you cannot show proof of insurance on the date on the ticket, the BMV will suspend your license for non-compliance.
And how long after can they reissue a ticket that has been dismissed

answered on Oct 6, 2022
If the charge was dismissed without prejudice, the ticket can be reissued. Depending upon the nature of the violation they would have either 6 months (minor misdemeanor) or 2 years (regular misdemeanor). Either way, plenty of time. Tickets get dismissed all the time and rarely have I seen one... View More
I was on private property pulling my boat trailer to park it after launching my boat and accidentally hit the ladder on the back of another boat with the fender of my trailer.

answered on Oct 6, 2022
The code indicates it can be issued on "property open to the public." So, the nature of the private property would be the key to your proposed defense. If it's business, like a marina or boat storage place, or a camp ground, even private, residential property where the owner allows... View More
In trouble if I drove away and she was calling the police? There are two ways to enter the drive-thru. She pulled into the one side about 7 minutes after me and insisted that she was first.

Yes, you can get in trouble for leaving the scene of an accident.
I bought and titled the vehicle before the search. Dont they have to get a new warrant since the target vehicle changed ownership
?

answered on Jul 10, 2022
The warrant relates to the car as owned at the time when it was issued. Therefore the popo does not need to get a new warrant for a vehicle that transferred ownership while under the original warrant.
He failed to appear in court for that.
I got stopped tonight while he was a passenger. They ran his s.s number and arrested him. He has had DUI's in the past 5+ yrs ago which is why his license is suspended. He owes child support too. They said in july 2021 the truck he was driving... View More

answered on Jul 10, 2022
First of all, he is facing multiple DUI's, which, if occurred within 10 years of each other raises the penalties significantly. Then, the DUS, which is a blatant disregard of the law under DUI suspension is an M1 which carries a possible 180 days. Make sure he has insurance. The plates are... View More
During a traffic stop for window tint at night do police have to run your license and registration before they ask you to step out of the car and before they ask you to search your car

answered on May 12, 2022
The police do not have to run your registration before asking you to step out or before asking to search though they generally do. You do not have to consent to the search. But you do have to get out and provide your information.

You have not asked a question. However, if you were charged with child endangering as a result of this incident, it is far more serious than a speeding ticket and you should hire an attorney.
I missed court but was told if box wasn't checked I didn't have to appear now they trying to take my driver license which I never had been driving since I was 16

A license forfeiture is a process by which a court invalidates your license to force you to deal with them. If you want your license back, you need to obtain a document called a release of forfeiture from the court. It is true that you do not have to appear in court, if they don't check the... View More

The prosecutor is free to offer his or opinions. You should not listen to them seeing how their job is to convict you.
I was pulled over for speeding. The ticket he give me has the wrong model of car. It said it was a station wagon and I drive an edge. Two very different vehicles. Also he had be going faster than what I was. I had my cruise control set for 75 and the speed limit was 70. He said he clock me going... View More

Based on your post, you have admitted you were speeding, but that the law enforcement officer noted things which are in error. The prosecution has the burden of proof and would call the law enforcement officer who would identify you as the operator of a vehicle which was exceeding the speed limit.... View More
I’ve been told the court only excepts payment through Bitcoin. I find that hard to believe. Is this a scam? My friend hit a parked car but didn’t stop. There was no injuries. He is under house arrest now. I’m not comfortable paying that way

answered on Apr 11, 2022
While you should ask a lawyer in Australia, technically, this seems like it is almost certainly a scam.
Will he have to show proof of insurance in court or will it be thrown out? There were no injuries but both cars totaled. The ticket said the offense was "stop sign". It also says he does not need to appear in person. Can this be thrown out without showing proof of insurance?

answered on Feb 2, 2022
Tickets with incorrect names on them do not get thrown out. They get corrected. He is going to get a license suspension from the BMV for not having insurance.
