Definitely hire a criminal defense attorney in the county/town where your case is pending. Good luck!!
There is a restraining order so this is why it’s difficult. What do i do about the car situation and the title? I believe he’s getting money from the insurance company.

Is your ex your ex husband? If so, does the Divorce Decree state who retains possession of the vehicle? Is the restraining order against you or your ex?
These factors will have an impact on what your relief may be in this situation.
My fiance was arrested on November 25th for Domestic Battery and unlawful restraint and he is not guilty

I recommend finding a good local defense attorney from the county where the case is being prosecuted to handle his case. Best of luck. Al Jones
Is a form of abuse yet my employer does nothing

More information is needed to answer your question. Is your coworker singling you out and giving you the silent treatment due to your status in a protected class (race, religion, age, etc)? If not, and the reason for giving you the silent treatment is merely a personality conflict, your employer is... View More

What do you want to do?
How old are you now?
Injury to your genitalia is an intentional act which means that it CANNOT be covered by insurance. This means that no attorney is going to spend their money to get a judgment that she can make worthless by filing bankruptcy. You would... View More
So, my current husband is abusive emotionally and just now physically. I own a llc, just started it. My question is: if I get a divorce, is there anyway I can protect my business from him getting anything from it? He goes from job to job a lot. Thank you

Your question is almost impossible to answer without knowing more facts. For example, how much marital money went into funding the business? Does the business have a value? Is the business totally reliant upon you? In other words, if you stopped working at it, would the business collapse? There are... View More
I have screen shots from Facebook of our conversations and when I told her I am done with the relationship and I am applying for college she got angry and is now trying to put a restraining order on me. My court date is the 28 of this month.

Yes. You need an attorney to represent you in court.
This is no joke. An order of protection can have serious consequences when it comes to your future.

Yes. He should have a lawyer who can explain all the consequences to him of either fighting the request for what I assume is a domestic violence order of protection or not contesting it.
There isn't enough information to answer your question about whether he should contest it. He... View More
Can a plaintiff use a video that skips and lapse in time for evidence in their case or can I motion to exclude it from being seen?
If so, under what grounds can I motion?
Video goes up to minute 2 then skips to 2:30 to 3:15 then skips to 4:05, lot of the video seem altered.
answered on Oct 1, 2021
You could do a motion in limine asking to bar the video due to lack of foundation. If it’s edited in some way, it has been altered and wouldn’t meet foundational requirements to be admissible evidence.
Probably a good issue to have a lawyer handle. Each county is different and has... View More
Prosecutor is in a more serious(felony) case vs a family court case. Is there any precedent notably in illinois that a Judge can suspend the lesser case until the more serious case is completed?
I didn't show up for the calendar date and it's a 6 year old warrant

Every case is different. It is essential that you retain an attorney.
My lawyer is asked by the judge to submit extensions for my spouse's order of protection because they don't have an attorney. Isn't this a conflict of interest for me, and can't I just have my attorney not do it?
answered on Mar 30, 2021
There is no conflict of interest. Your lawyer could hardly say no to the judge under these circumstances. It's a mere courtesy to the court.
So my boyfriend is bipolar and can become manic. He ended up assaulting me pretty bad. My family took me to the hospital were I found out I had a broken nose, two black eyes, a chiped tooth and bruises from head to toe. They pressured me to make report which I did but I thought I could drop the... View More

Those include the right to hire an attorney and be informed of everything going on in the case and the ability to make a statement to the judge. You need to hire an attorney to assist you with this matter. Domestic Battery charges are very serious and could cause you issues for the rest of your life if you are convicted. The sooner you hire an attorney, the better.

Should I be concerned about them taking my children and how do I prepare for this transition?
answered on Jan 23, 2021
Yes. You should be concerned.
DCFS and the local State's Attorney's Office in the County where you live could conclude that you placed your children at risk of harm and screen the case into juvenile court for a judge to make that determination.
There, you'll need a... View More
We got photos together since it happened which is 6 months ago in June. She say she not coming but it’s state vs me
answered on Dec 26, 2020
You need a Criminal Defense Attorney if you have not hired one already. The State can force her to appear in court and if she fails to appear in court, the can ask the Judge to issue a warrant for her arrest. You need an attorney now.
Will I go to jail. We bein together every since our anniversary was Nov20th we live and work together since then? But the state picked it up what will happen. She’s not coming to court
answered on Dec 26, 2020
The case is being prosecuted by the People of the State of Illinois. You will need to retain an attorney as soon as possible to protect your rights .

What? Not really sure what you are asking here. There are a few types of Orders of Protections. If it is not a complete stay away OP, the parties can typically speak to each other.
