A lot of strategies used by attorneys could be art rather than science, otherwise an app could take over. Every situation is different and no two juries are the same.

Sometimes I offer payment plans and I tend to have lower rates than most around me. My consults are free. It never hurts to shop around. However, if someone is dirt cheap, there may be a reason and a public defender at that point would not be a bad idea. Public defenders are great attorneys but... View More

This site is for private attorneys, not prosecutors. Prosecutors are the ones with whom you'd want to speak. We would be the ones defending the people accused of a crime, especially those accused by others who have no concrete evidence.

DO NOT talk to anyone! Immediately call a defense attorney who is local--I'm always available. There is no such thing as "Detectives just wanting to talk." They talk to build evidence--lawyer up now. Don't write anything else online because the cops and DA look through these sites.

Q: Is it illegal if our family knows about sexual assault that happened within our family and doesn't tell the authorities?

My brother sexually assaulted our cousin and everyone in our family knows it. She doesn't want to press charges and has not (yet). Will my immediate family be charged with a crime if we don't report it to the authorities?

In California, you are not expected as a citizen to report crimes, unless you had a part in it. If you in any way helped, promoted, encouraged, or enticed someone to do it, it's illegal. It's also illegal if you assist this person to hide from the law. However, if you saw something and... View More

The other attorney is correct. You can't trust other systems and would have had to confirm with the court or the DA whether you were on calendar. At this point, you need an attorney ASAP. Either call me or ask for a public defender. (714) 321-9999

First, it's best to retain an attorney in case you are charged or arrested. It's also important to not talk about this case to anyone except your attorney. I'm glad you didn't admit to anything. I would get an attorney on retainer and then keep my head down and work when... View More

You can always be arrested, but whether the DA files charges or DA would be able to prove their case are another thing. Whatever you do, don't talk to the police and keep your evidence/proof of your innocence.

When you say you went into trial, do you mean you never showed up for your trial? Do you know if there are warrants issued for your arrest?

Please do not put more facts here as cops and DA's surf these sites. You can call my office at (714) 321-9999 for a free consult.
