The easiest way is to file a joint petition for custody where she waives service and consents to granting you custody. The court will still likely set it for hearing to make sure that is accurate, but that would be the fastest way.

I'm assuming that this is a disability discrimination matter. If that is the case then they are likely offering you a different position as a reasonable accommodation for your claimed disability. If you don't take it it is likely that they can terminate you.

You need to refile under your name solely to have any hope here. Grandparents have no rights to visitation if the parents of the grandchild are legally married. They can get custody, but only if they are able to prove that the biological parent is unfit or abandoned the child.
