If there was bodily injury or property damage caused by the exposed power lines, you may have a potential claim for money damages. You did not say if that's what you wish to inquire about. If you wish, you can contact any lawyer you see on this site to discuss, or you can post a new inquiry... View More

Q: If a company declares that their debt to you is fraudulent, can they stop paying you? The note personally held

Delaware law applies in this situation. The promissory note is held personally. This promissory note is from a purchase of a business and the buyer claims that the deal was fraudulent. Can they just stop paying you even though they have not proven that the purchase is fraudulent?

Your inquiry is a bit vague as to whether the first case is over with zero recovery, and if so, why. You seem to indicate that the statute of limitations period expired, but that issue likely has nothing to do with the issue of which witnesses should be contacted. You are also vague, ad to both... Yes, if the pro se litigant is in any court other than small claims court (where you must seek leave of court to conduct depos or other discovery, whether you are pro se or have counsel). You likely have a claim for money damages, but the State of Fla. probably is not your potential defendant. The potential defendants would be the individual law enforcement officer(s) who committed a fraud on the Court and,in limited circumstances, the entity employing the officer(s). Generally,... That depends on your facts and the type of garnishment. One issue is whether you are eligible to file a claim of exemption (for example, under one of the categories mentioned in Fla. Statutes Sec. 77.041). If not eligible, the options include trying to work something out with the creditor or... View More

To determine your rights and remedies, your contract/lease with the college must be reviewed. Start by reviewing it yourself and see if there is any verbiage regarding maintenance/repair issues, as well as any verbiage on any steps you must take in the event of any dispute or complaint.
