Q: I recieved a check from the neca local union no 313 ibew. The bank is trying to tell me that I altered it. What do I do

If you did not alter the check, you should ask the bank why they think you altered it. You can also request the union to reissue a check if there is a discrepancy on it that is preventing the bank from honoring it.

Q: I had DCFS involved as well as CPS. I believe they are the same adjacency.

I received a letter from DCFS stating they closed the case I want to know if the cps case is closed as well. I'm not sure if they are both the same thing in Louisiana.

Well, someone has custody of you until you are 18. This means there is a possibility you could be returned. To get around this you'd need to petition a court for emancipation.

No, it's not malpractice to give what are normal professional courtesies. If your former counsel gave the extension, and the other side relied on it, and they filed the answer in time, I suggest you tell them you will agree to vacate the judgment and allow them to answer--a judge will do it...
