You probably want to speak with an immigration attorney in Florida. If you do get pulled over, the officer may ask questions that could reveal your legal status in the country. If the jurisdiction in which you are pulled over has an interagency agreement with ICE, simply being pulled over and... View More

The problem is that my son doesn't even have a driver license or Florida I'd. And he didn't get that ticket, we check public records and in fact the ticket exists my son is afraid that when he decides to get his driver license he might get in trouble what can we do. Thank you

Who does the lawyer represent?

You indicate that "in fact the ticket exists". Does it name your son as the person ticketed? Whose car is shown on the ticket?

Q: parents liability protection

S will be taking a vehicle to the university and he will need the vehicle to travel to/from his part time job I am wondering if it makes any sense to transfer the title to S's name? Yes, if your adult son has sole title to the vehicle, he, and he alone, is legally responsible for it and the use of it. Once your child turns 18, you are not responsible in any way for his acts or omissions for use of vehicles (or anything else) that are not owned by you, not shared with you, and... View More

Q: I was hit by someone without their headlights on at night, am I at fault?

Hi, I live in Pinellas County Florida. About a week ago I was driving at night and was making a turn on to a street with a yield sign for me. I looked both ways and made the turn. I didn't see someone who was driving without their head lights on and thus they hit me in the rear of my car.... View More

Since he hit you from behind, it probably doesn't matter whether he had his headlights on. And whether you saw him or not probably doesn't matter either. What does matter is that, if he had his headlights on he should have seen you and if he didn't that may have contributed to the... View More

He can pay the $23 reinstatement fee and request a hearing. I am sure that he never received the notice but he will need to pay in order to make sure that his license does not go into suspension.

Q: Hello I recently received a speeding citation in my county in Florida.

My question is the speed limit and address listed on my citation are incorrect for the area i was pulled over in. What should I do to fix this in my citation? The difference in speed limit would lower my citation penalty price.

Yes, but the officer can amend the citation prior to the hearing. However, it sounds like the officer has a bunch of facts mixed up in the citation which will help for the hearing. At the end of the day if the officer testifies under oath that he recalls you driving at excessive speed, you will... View More

I deal with the tickets. I will agree that the entire Red Light Camera debacle is a scam for money, not safety. When we were able to fight these and win on the evidence (or lack thereof) things were good. That ended around 2013. After that, all the attitudes of the judges and hearing officers... View More

Did you think that going to school would get the ticket off of your record? If doing so in fact would do that, and I have my doubts, did you submit proof of taking the course to the appropriate agency?
