You always have the right of self defense - you just can't instigate it or once you have "defended" yourself - you can't keep up the fight. There is a line. You need to "make a record" and call a police officer and document what has happened. Document the day, time,... View More

Q: Is it legal to form an all volunteer group with the purpose of protecting citizens from rioters?

Say I have a group that goes out and purchases riot gear, and then travels around the country and stops riots or steps in before police can to protect others. Would that be legal? I want to see if there is a way to keep people safe from groups like antifa

Depends what you mean by protect. Because you chose to, in a premeditated way, inject yourself you may violate a number of statutes, state and federal. I'm sure that you will find enough injustice in Oklahoma to work on that you won't need to go outside the state. Looks to me like antifa... View More

It maybe advisable to ask to meet with a police officer to make a report just to document everything that has been happening. Next, you may want to speak to an attorney about getting a civil injunction against him, and maybe even a protective order.

Best source would be the ACLU prison project. Question I'd have is have you seen this or just heard this. NOrmally it would be a violation of federal Bureau of Prisons policy but that may have changed. Again check with ACLU prison project or similar project for the Oklahoma Civil Liberites Union.

Look at the courthouse where it was filed. That will have the notice of appeal, which will have the Court it goes to. So you go to that Court's system. Look there. If a further appeal happened look there. Ruling would be in a court opinion or final order.

You need then to contact a...

I am concern because they asked for names of family members. I did not want their private information out or be dragged in a case.

Why not discuss this with your attorney?

You may want to at least consult with another attorney as to your rights and the attorney's rights to his attorney fees. You should read the Attorney Client Contract to see what language (if any) applies in this situation. Typically, an insurance company will take the case / claim more... View More
