if you don't follow the court order, then they can file a contempt petition against you and that opens up a huge can of worms. You might be able to get the order modified (there are limitations to that though), and an experienced family law attorney can assist you with that

you need a DNA test done. The court can order a DNA test and you should hire an attorney to start this process
Paying her $2000 a month, she's gone on vacations with him but I'm not sure if he lives there. We are still married & she had a baby by him. Can I have my maintence modify or ended?
answered on Jul 17, 2017
I am assuming you are legally separated? Read the court order on maintenance and see what it says. Most of them do have a termination date.
answered on Jul 17, 2017
probably yes--the court will probably make it supervised visitation initially since you haven't seen the child in so long though

There could be a hold on your license preventing you from renewing it once it expires
Is there jail time, or what is the fees because this is my first time getting pulled over and im freaking out because of the court date. Also, the officer messed up and maked on the ticket AND told me to my face that a court date is not required. Then we were confused and my lawyer called the... View More

It doesn't matter what victim wants--victims and civilians CANNOT press charges. It's up to the prosecutor on pressing charges. Parent's can "open a case" If the crime is reported and an arrest is made, then the prosecutor will review the police report and decide if they... View More
Haven't seen my child in 5 yrs. But she was awarded for me to pay $262 a week for college in conjunction with $90 a week for child support. My child turned 18 in 2016. The local office said I had a balance of zero then 5 month later saying I owe 11,000. Sent an appeal to Springfield disputing... View More

YIKES! That's a high amount. Call the Springfield office and request paperwork to see if any errors were made. If you were sending payments to the state disbursement board then you can set up an account to see what was going on with the payment
Charge: No Valid Drivers License
answered on Jul 12, 2017
I am not 100% familiar with the rules on underage driving, but I thought that your license gets "suspended" for no valid license and what this means is that even though you don't have a license, the secretary of state will still have this documented. You may have to pay a... View More

I am a little confused. Who took the vehicle? Was it for an ordinance violation? I know some jurisdictions will treat traffic offenses as ordinance violation and take the vehicle for "unauthorized use of motor vehicle" or something of that nature. If that's the case, then there is... View More

what was the hearing exactly? It wasn't a trial so it probably doesn't make a difference whether or not victim showed up. I am assuming the defendant has his own attorney, and all these questions should be addressed to him or her.
Also, while it is an uphill battle for the... View More

You don't know what witnesses or the alleged victim told the police. If there is probable cause (that more likely than not a crime is committed), then officers will make an arrest. Criminal Damage to Property is a criminal offense and can be either a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the... View More

Nope. but you will have to go through a separate proceeding with the new father of your child if you want any child support out of him
I am going through a divorce and my soon to be ex wife is refusing to give our child my last name. He is due to be born today or tomorrow. I don't want to sign his birth certificate if I do not agree with the name chosen. Would I lose legal rights to see him?
answered on Jul 10, 2017
Nope, not signing the birth certificate wouldn't affect it but if the child is yours, then you should feel at least an ethical obligation to sign it. think of how the child will be growing up knowing that his/her own father didn't sign the birth certificate. And I don't see what... View More
Her and the kids live with me because she has limited funds. They have been separated for five years, he has never paid child support and has a two yr old child by another woman. Can my daughter get a divorce pro bono
answered on Jul 10, 2017
Are you asking if your daughter can get a pro bono attorney? She might be able too. I think you can contact the Chicago Bar Association or the Cook County Clerk's office for a list of organizations that do pro bono work.

There are no rights...she is still a minor. If she leaves and parents don't know where she is, parents can call the police to make a runaway report an any law enforcement officer that comes across her would have to take her into custody and take her back home.
1st ticket was 1/2/17. I received 6 month court supervision and traffic school to get it off my record. I then got another ticket 6/23/17. These are the only 2 speeding tickets/moving violations I've ever received (I'm 23). Will the 1st ticket still come off my record at the end of the... View More

Technically they can violate your first supervision because one of the rules of traffic safety school is that you do not get more tickets in the 6 month period. Assuming they don't do that, supervision would be completed and the case would be dismissed (but it would still show up on your... View More
