It sounds like it is a criminal misdemeanor reckless driving charge and not a simple speeding ticket. Either way, I don't think there is anything you can do. You have ten days to appeal after a conviction and 60 days to file a motion to reopen. Some judges bend the 60 day rule but I don't... View More

You should reach out to the Pennsylvania DMV. It will tell you how to come into compliance in PA and clear up your suspension(s) there so that you'll be okay to get your license in Virginia.

You should ride a bike or find a residence closer to work. If they have reason to believe your license is suspended then that's probably going to be fine.

From what you are describing, it sounds like you were convicted of driving while you are suspended/revoked (for either a DUI or a drug charge) under VA code 18.2-272. One of the penalties under that statute is that the DMV takes your license for an additional 12 months (on top of the original... View More

Yes. 30 mph over the limit in a 40 zone is a very high speed and both jail and license suspension are possible.

Contact a local lawyer for help on that one.

If they had a 19 in the year spot how were they expired? If the tags were illegal/altered then I doubt you're getting those back and you must be very grateful that you didn't get charged with a misdemeanor.

Every court is different on how they treat 92 in a 70. Some courts give jail time, others convict and suspend the license but don't give jail, and many others will reduce with community service/driving school. Talk to an experienced traffic lawyer in the location where the offense was. Once... View More

I don't even know what you're trying to ask. If you were charged with driving without a license you can request a court appointed lawyer at your hearing or hire someone. Usually it helps to get properly licensed. Good luck.

It just depends on the judge. A lot of people make the mistake of reading on google to do driving school. Or they think that doing voluntary driving school will help with a dismissal. It may help, and it may hurt your case. Many judges won't let you "double dip" by getting a... View More

It depends on the facts of your case and which code section you were charged under.

If you were charged under 46.2-830, and the facts of your case permit it, it would be best to seek a reduction to 46.2-830.1 in order to avoid assessing the demerit points on your driver's license. If...

I don't think anything would prevent them from going before a magistrate and swearing out a warrant. I could be wrong about that, but I think they can do that. If they didn't stop you though, how do they prove it was you and not someone that looked like you? So they may have proof issues.

Q: Got a speeding ticket (85 on 55) in Fredreick MD.Is it better to get it reduced to 20MPH below posted limit?

I hold VA drivers license.

Above 20MPH is 6 point violation and 10 to 20 MPH is 4 point violation in VA.

Is it better to get it reduced to 4 point than 6 point violation?

As a general rule, it is always going to be best to get it reduced as low as possible. This is true because insurance companies differ in how they treat tickets, and at different speeds. In addition, if you get a future ticket, having that 30 mph over is a pretty serious prior charge. So I would... View More
