But in any event, no. You now know that the building is undervalued in the policy. You simply get the insurer to raise the value, before a...

What is your relation to your "client"? Are you an attorney, accountant, property manager, or what?

If you contracted for repairs (as the principal, and not as the agent of the "client"), and if you are thus liable on the repair contract, the "client"'s...

If they settled they owe you. If you mean your claim, no--take a look at your policy. You selected a low, medium, or high amount, with or without excess. That's what they did. They don't owe you an obligation to have large enough coverage for something. Unless certain things apply. You... View More

Do understand that in the US you do not necessarily get your attorney fees returned, so an attorney will reuqire a... View More

The neighbor is asking you or your nanny to pay the damages? I don't think you are liable, although the nanny may be, so why do you want to pay the deductible? Your nanny should ask to see the policy to verify if the damage is covered.

We asked Chase to apply insurance proceeds to principal. They agreed and later decided not to. When I inquired why they would not, they said that they would only do so if we paid it off completely. They held the insurance payment in escrow since 2007 and are now foreclosing.
