Q: after signing a contract for a caterer for a set amount, can they add additional charges for state regulations?

We were told due to covid we would have to pay additional fees based on state regulations. Even though we booked during covid and the original contract does not mention these cost. Is this our responsibility?

The contract will control. If there is a fixed price - and the contract does not provide for any changes then the caterer may be stuck. Q: Due to unforeseen circumstances with Covid we are unable to meet the minimum sales requirements of a business contract.

Q: Iij am asking for an elderly friend. His land lord is terminating his lease.. but the tenant does not want this..

If the tenant's lease is not expiring, landlord cannot make him leave until the end of the lease term. But if the tenant's lease is expiring, then unless the lease gives tenant an automatic renewal or a right to renew, landlord is not under any obligation to renew or extend the lease... Read more »
