Q: I’m 20 and I moved to Florida after hurricane Irma. My mom lives in Puerto Rico and she wants to force me to move back.

Such a lawsuit would be barred by the workers compensation statutes. Workers compensation is an exclusive remedy. You should ask your question of an attorney who practices in that field.

Just a general question.

Are you asking if you could be found to be liable for wrongful death? By "breaks in", I'm assuming that, in your scenario, the doors were locked. It's not likely, but in the event it does happen you should contact your homeowner's insurance company.

No idea. There is not enough information here to venture a response. It is clear that you have some type of court case pending. Asking what you should or should not do in a court case, via the internet is not the best approach. If you are representing yourself in a litigation case, and you do... View More

You should consult with a competent immigration attorney who can evaluate your juvenile court records to make sure that they do not raise any problems. Without seeing the documents in question, it is impossible to say whether or not they will pose a problem for you.

It totally depends upon the governing documents of the community, so there is no way to say for sure. You might try to communicate with them to see if they can give you a few days extension.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Q: Is it legal for a hs officer -who did not witness the event- to issue a county citation on the word of a teacher?

I understand your frustration, but this is more complex of a situation than can be handled via this type of online forum. You do not state your relationship to the minor, but if you desire to do something the clock is ticking as the schools policies and procedures likely set a short window of time... View More

You really do not ask a question but state a series of facts.

The only case at this point is the one being claimed by the officer. You can likely challenge the officers case. Most likely the schools guidelines allow for some type of challenge.

Good luck.

Don't you can go to jail. Call the Florida Coalition against domestic violence hotline 1800-500-1119. See if you can talk to a counselor to evaluate your options. You need a place to go to and for the state to protect you. That's not something the system is optimally set up to do.... View More
