Q: How can I find a lawyer who has expertise with application for disability benefits from the MN Dept Human Services?

My adult daughter (age 43) sustained a TBI and is not eligible for SSI because she had insufficient employment history when the TBI occurred. Although she lives independently, her long-term disability confounds her navigation of the complex procedures/processes.

I believe you mean your daughter does not qualify for SSDI (which is disability payments for having worked enough and paying into the Social Security system). Typically this means the only benefit available from Social Security would be SSI (Supplemental Security Income). The SSI program is also... Read more »

Q: Is it possible to get a lawyer to HELP ME?? S.O.S‼️‼️ My case will be dismissed soon without one. I was massacred!

I had applied for disability in 2015, and the Social Security Administration did a long & full review of everything and decided that in 2015, 2016, and 2017 I was NOT disabled -UNTIL- after my two 'botched' surgeries in 2017. Since then, I have been extremely physically sick, I still... Read more »

I'm sorry your question remains open for three weeks. You describe an urgency in terms of time. At this point, you could reach out to law firms to try to set up a free initial consult instead of losing further time awaiting a response here.

For the disability-related matter, you could...

This is something that a social security disability attorney would probably understand best, but your post remains open for five weeks. It could be difficult for an attorney to offer to handle your case in response to your question - this forum does not operate like an attorney referral service... Read more »

Q: I can't find a lawyer for my SSI appeal is there no hope?

I had a lawyer file my initial application but I see now it wasn't filed correctly. I had no knowledge before about the date last insured which is 2015 and I have not worked since 2011. I do have assets so it makes things even worse and now from a car accident, I'm crippled up even worse... Read more »

I'm not clear what part of your application you think was filed incorrectly. If your date last insured in in 2015 then you would have to prove that you became disabled before that date in order to be paid Title 2 disability benefits based on your work history. That can be really difficult but... Read more »

This has included but not limited to doing the funeral arraignments, looking for an attorney, providing transportation, cleaning out his mother's rented house, getting info for setting up an SNT and ABLE account, and countless other errands.
