Buying house, he is on the loan and I am not. The bank just said I cannot be put on the title because we are not married? Is this law or policy? Thank you!
answered on Dec 4, 2019
If two parties are not legally married, I do not recommend jointly owning property with someone who is also not liable for the mortgage on the property. Once you are married, your husband can add you to the title, if he wishes via deed. In Wisconsin we have a special form of ownership where married... View More
Recieved a letter saying it has been closed and no further payments are to be made. Just received another letter that they are garnishing my wages for 3,620.04...is this legal?

Gather up those letters and get them to a consumer lawyer for a free consultation. They should offer you a free consultation to review the documents and determine if you've been garnished too much money.
Is it fraud if an owner of a company advertises merchandise at a certain percentage off, but then tells the sales team not to let customers know of these sales?
answered on Aug 22, 2019
It could be. It would depend on the state of mind and intent with which it's done. Good luck

I suspected they would file because their attorney's sent me bills to collect, but a summons nor complaint never came. I looked it up on WCCA and saw it today. Summons was filed on 6-17-19. I still haven't received it, but the commissioner adjourned for publication on 7-11-19. Attempted... View More

seems to be a class action settlement but I don't recall filing a claim, is it a scam or legit? Case no 16-CH-06603. Everything I could find about this class action settlement is dated in 2016 or 2017 so I'm not sure why I received a check today (04/22/2019)

Despite what you have been reading about, and hearing on the radio and TV, or talking about with friends down at the local pub, not everything strange that is happening to good people is a "scam." Unless the class action distribution check you received is for several hundred thousand... View More

Some restaurants will pay. Some will ask for proof, as in the form of an ER visit or doctor visit. Some will contest your claim that their food made you sick.

You certainly have a right to dispute the incorrect information under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The credit reporting agency (and the company putting the incorrect information on), must investigate your dispute and get back to you in 30 days. Contact a Wisconsin consumer lawyer and get a free... What if i make a $1,000,000 purchase and it lets me can i go to jail?
answered on May 22, 2018
No, you won't go to jail. Because if your card/bank authorizes the transaction, you'll then owe the bank all that money. They'll freeze your accounts and probably sue you for the money. Don't be stupid; don't do it.

Depends on the reason they're closing it. Did they explain why?
My vehicle was recently repossessed, and I didn't receive a notice to cure debt . Now I'm told that I have to pay late fee's ,past due balance of $100, and a $299 fee in order to retrieve my vehicle.
answered on Feb 9, 2018
You may have a case for an "illegal repossession" and be entitled to get the vehicle back -- AND return of all the money you paid on the car. Contact a local consumer lawyer that specializes in repossession cases and request a free consultation.

You really need to talk with a lawyer about that, before making a decision. It will turn on the nature of the class and the type/strength of individual claims you have.

More information is needed to evaluate the facts in your inquiry. Appraisals are subjective. So it is unsurprising there are different opinions about the value of the home.
