I bonded a friend out of jail and paid the bonds person $1000. Not even 12 hours later they picked him back up and said he wasnt ever supposed to be bonded out because he had a hold with the department of corrections. Can I get my $1000 back? Who regulates bond companies?
answered on Mar 11, 2020
Unless you can convince the bond guy to return your money you are out of luck. Why? Because they will say that they did their job--kept your friend out of stir--and are entitled to keep the bond you paid. Lesson learned: Don't bond out any more friends.
My husband made a loan and used a lot of our household stuff. Can they take that from me or make me pay his debt? We live in Mississippi which is not a community property state.

If you stop making the payments, they can take the collateral for the loan. This is true whether or not they make a claim as a creditor in probate.
Is it from the date of the last payment made on the account or does it start 180 days after the last payment made on the account
answered on Aug 7, 2019
The statute of limitations starts on the date of last activity on your account. This could be the date you last made payment, but it could also be the date you last used the account, made a promise to pay, entered a payment agreement, or acknowledged liability for the debt.

What legal grounds I have
answered on Nov 8, 2018
There's not a whole lot that an attorney can go off of to answer your questions. You may want to consider reaching out to an attorney privately.

You may want to consider reaching to an attorney on here if you have questions concerning any pending charges. Most attorneys, myself included, are happy to provide a brief consultation.

Manufactured 2015, purchased 2016, tandem trailer with axles > 2000lbs gvw each was sold to me without brakes (unbeknownst to me). Is there any course of action I can take with the dealer (to get the brakes installed at least at their cost, perhaps)? What would be the legal recourse?... View More

When you buy a trailer or any similar product, you should always do so by getting a written contract. You then need to read the contract and see what you are buying, and if it matches what you thought you were buying. If it does not, you should not sigh it. If there is no written contract, then... Sounds like you have a case. You need an attorney for the place where it happened. Look for that state's Assn for Justice--their members give free consultations.

Not necessarily. Your best bet would be to see if perhaps the initial transaction was cancelled out. Regardless, if you review your account and see a double charge, you could reach out to the manager and see about getting a refund on one of the transactions.
Distributor claims I did not pay for product delivered

You need to consult with an attorney to provide additional information. Off of the top of my head, the things that I am thinking of are the records showing delivery of the gas, the method of payment, when paid, and a reconciliation of your records to theirs.

The owner will need to contact the lender to see if the lender will release the title. The lender is not required to do so if their lien was never paid.

It would have to be proven that your renal failure was caused by the formula and no other product, through expert testimony. I don't see it, and then there's the statute of limitations issue, but for you to have some closure why not contact an attorney in your area that offers free... View More
