Q: Bankruptcy

I have a estimate of $5,000 debt, back rent of $8000 and a car loan I'm still wanting to continue to keep. I can't catch up on my rent or debt. I'm a single mom with my only income. Should I file for bankruptcy?

You should have a consultation with a local bankruptcy attorney who can go over your whole situation and give you the options available. It really takes a full dive into your situation to know what the best options are.

It can't hurt to consult with a Bankruptcy attorney but Bankruptcy won't necessarily be your best option. You might need an attorney well versed in foreclosure law. But starting with a BK attorney should give you some answers.

You should immediately talk to a personal injury attorney who also handles medical malpractice. There are very strict timelines that you must not violate so you should talk to someone right away or you could lose the chance to do something.

You should first find lawyers in your area that handle mold cases and then start calling them to discuss your case. I always suggest someone try 3-4 before making any decisions if they all are not taking on your case. Keep trying is the best advice.

If you sue her for Breach of Contract you can then ask her questions in "discovery" to try and find out her financial position. You could then take her deposition and ask further questions. Talk to an attorney to see how viable your case might be.
