An Illinois attorney could best advise, but your question remains open for two weeks. The description here is somewhat brief, but the fact that your citation against you was dismissed is something in your favor. If the citation was for something administrative, it might not be significant. If the... View More

Q: I was shopping and upon exiting the store the door greeter grab my child by the arm while he was in a cart. Can I sue?

My child was in a cart and she did not have permission to touch my child. As many people as she sees all day and touching all the carts everyone touches I feel she put my child at risk for infection of covid-19 aren't there social distancing laws in place?!

Maybe, but what would your damages be? Also, what affirmative defense might the greeter have? You are only providing half of the facts. Did your child grab an item that wasn't paid for? Was your child in danger and about to fall? It's not clear why the greeter touched your child.

I understand how gross this must make you feel.

Can you sue? You can sue anyone for anything, but that doesn't mean you can win. I imagine you'll have a hard time finding a lawyer to bring a claim for this unless you can prove you were injured. Injury might be a long term...

If you are experiencing pain then you need to seek medical attention right away. An injured person should not allow the Co-vid 19 pandemic to result in untreated pain, or even worse, allowing a severe injury to become permanent or cause death out of fear of going to the doctor. The emergency rooms... View More

You generally send out demand letters once your treatment has been completed. That said, you are doing yourself an immense disservice by not having an attorney represent you, especially considering the severity of the injuries you described.
