Michael you need to look at your bill of lading. It will say where claims must be handled. Look for an attorney who handles such claims. You will need proof of what the damages cost. Do understand that in the US you do not necessarily get your attorney fees returned, so an attorney will reuqire a... View More

I assume your car was insured. If yoiur friend has insurance then you have secondary coverage. I don't see them going after you but it's possible--depends on their injuries, medical bills, amouint of your insurance. Discuss situation with a bankruptcy attorney so that IF they get as far... I got into an accident driving alone a couple days ago and I only have a permit.I turned 18 less than a month ago. It is not clear whether the "swerving" car which arguably caused the accident has been identified. If so, the driver of that car may well be liable for the damage to all three cars. Otherwise, it appears that the car that hit yours is liable. Have you notified the insurance companies?

What do you mean by "a totaled title"? He will get title to the vehicle. Whether the insurance company considers it "totaled" makes no difference as far as title is concerned.

It is not very clear, but as I understand it, the title to the Pacifica is in your name. Unless it shows your daughter as having a lien, she cannot repossess it as she is threatening to do. If she tries do so, call the police.

She can, of course, sue you (most likely in small claims...

If the other party, via their insurance, is responsible for repairing your vehicle, it would seem that they are also responsible for the towing. Ask them why they don't believe they should pay this charge.
