Q: What should I do when I got a speeding ticket for 87 in a 55 in Illinois?

My speedometer was broke and I was in a rush to get back for a class on campus. I have no previous interactions with the law. I know its a class B Misdemeanor but what does that mean in terms of my license? I am an EMT and need my license to drive.

What should I do? You should hire an attorney to assist you with this matter right away. As you mention, this is a Class B Misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to $1,500.00 in fines not including mandatory assessments. As for your license, this ticket alone will not... View More

You need to hire an attorney. That attorney will file a Motion to Vacate on the most recent ticket. Hopefully that Motion will be granted and you will receive Court Supervision as opposed to the conviction you received. This will lift the suspension. The sooner you hire an attorney, the sooner you... View More

Q: Can I appeal a conviction based on negligence from all parties of the court?

Forced? You may have been given a tough choice to make but I am pretty sure you were not forced. Before the Judge accepted your plea, the Judge likely asked you if any one forced you to plead guilty to the charge and the only way the plea would be accepted is if you answered no. As for your appeal,... View More

Q: Could my charges be upgraded?

I got a first offense DUI. Blew close to 3x over the limit and got into an accident. No one was hurt and I was charged with a misdemeanor. A month later, the person I hit filed a personal injury claim. Does this mean my misdemeanor be upgraded to a felony?

The Personal Injury law suit is not going to cause your DUI to be upgraded. If you did not have valid insurance or a valid driver's license at the time, it could be upgraded to a Felony offense. This is something you should be discussing with your attorney. If you have not hired an attorney... View More

Q: Where can you find an attorney personally invested for a demand to ensure justice? practicing all areas of law

What? No attorney can be proficient in all areas of law. You need a different attorney for each area of law you need assistances with. Some large firms handle all areas of law, so you might want to consider hiring a firm to assist you as opposed a single attorney.

Not sure what you mean by "what i can do." You can always move out. If your parents wish to evict you, they will have to file it with the Court in the county where you live and deal with it in court in order to remove you. Not sure you or your parents want it to get to this level.
