you are posting this on a Criminal site.

if criminal the DA would be representing your interests if you could prove theft.

you should make appts with civil litigators........however, very few would handle this matter pro bono.

you might be more successful with Legal Aid or Aish Hatorah

I would report to Dept of Consumer Affairs.........and if they don't handle this, find out who controls licensing of car auctions.

you might also visit the city council to see if they can help.

i would like to have seen a letter memorializing all the facts sent to them with no response.

i am assuming you could not find a WC lawyer...if you are by yourself.

That often means there is a problem with the case.

You are asking this on a criminal site and this is a WC issue, not crim.

Strict liability refers to INTENT...........did the D have the Mens Rea/Intent.

usually the crime is so serious that the DA does not have to prove intent.....just that the D did it.

you should contact another lawyer to sub in. You can inquire of LOCAL lawyers on this site.

If the case has any value the 2 lawyers would share the fee.
