How can I get more money?
answered on Aug 17, 2016
Talk to a personal injury attorney. My understanding is that most don't charge for a consultation and, indeed, usually are paid on a contingent fee basis.

Realisticallly no if you don't have "underinsured motorist coverage.". I assume you've talked to a member of the Fla. Trial Lawyers Assn/Assn for Justice--they give free consults. You should get a consult if you haven't had one as there may be other sources depending on if... View More
was in a rush because my sister had to go to school. There was a car in front of me that kept hitting her brakes every 50 feet I looked in front of her and there was at least 2 miles between her and the car in front of her. We pull up to a red light and I eased up behind her because I knew she... View More

Your defense is that she didn't signal you by pointing or otherwise, and you didn't leave. Generally it's more serious the more damage there is. But even a tap and you must stop. You figured she was fine--is a sorta kinda defense. I suggest it's worth the investment in a lawyer... View More

He should do what he'd want to do anyway--follow up with a therapist for PTSD, and at the same time document his injuries by following up with a doctor. He should speak with a member of the Fla. Call her and ask for her insurance information. You should have done that before she left the scene. Then, unless she very immediately pays the amount of your estimate, make a claim with the insurance company.
He died in a trucking accident and I being the next in line in the family was made the beneficiary. I have talked to multiple people and none of them have been able to help. My brother and I are suppose to receive money each month and that has not started yet either. What do i need to do to get... View More

Life insurance goes to you as beneficiary. You need to call the company --they may ge waiting on some paperwork. The other payment I'm not sure about. Why not contact a member of the Fla. Trial Lawyers Assn? They give free consultations.

Turn it over to your insurance. If you had no insurance you need to enter an appearance otherwise you get another default.
You respond that you don't owe anything because it is "collateral estoppel" and "statute of limitations."
Been about 2 yrs an nothing ever done he just found out i received a injury settlement

I have no idea what you are talking about. Someone loaned you a car, there was no insurance, and you were involved in an accident? If the accident resulted from your negligence, of course you are liable for the damage to the car.
I was in a car accident recently in the middle of an intersection (under 5 mph thankfully) and at the time I was unaware of having to stay there so I moved to a nearby parking lot to avoid further danger. I immediately called the police but the other driver didn't follow me. If they file a... View More

If the other driver didn't follow you into the parking lot (where, I assume, the police met up with you), it is doubtful that police officers interviewed the other driver.
If they didn't, it doesn't seem that there would be another police report.
If they did, yes,... View More

This is a common problem for pizza delivery drivers. When insurance is purchased by the vehicle owner, there is a question that is always asked. Are you using the vehicle for personal or business uses? If you answer business uses, then your premiums will be higher in the form of a commercial... View More

You can get a copy of the fire rescue report and the police report. It may be a few days before the reports are available. You can also contact a personal injury attorney for further guidance. Hopefully, the driver had insurance and the police report is favorable to your point of view / version... View More

In Florida, a permanent injury is required to be entitled to pain and suffering related damages. You have a legal case to pursue; however, without insurance, it may be challenging down the line to collect anything from the at fault driver or at fault owner. It is unfortunate that the other driver... View More

You can contact a civil trial attorney, a debtor / creditor attorney, collections attorney, or bankruptcy attorney on a matter of this nature. Good luck.
I was involved in an accident that was considered my fault. I thought I had full coverage insurance. but unfortunately I do not. Seems like everything was covered, besides bodily injury liability. If the driver decides to sue you for the personal injuries, you can defend yourself OR hire a private attorney to represent your interest. Since you did not have Bodily Injury insurance, the injured person and his or her attorney may not bother filing a lawsuit against you. It will all depend on... View More

I am assuming this is because the claim was more than the limit, so they are coming after me for the difference, which is $25,000. .... was there a trial? If there was no trial you don't owe anything yet. If your insurance paid out I would be shocked if a signed release of all claims wasn't part of the payout arraignment. Call an attorney to discuss you situation in a bit more detail.
