Depending on which side does not show up, the judge will either have a hearing without the Respondent there or the judge will dismiss the case if the Petitioner is not there.

I don't know if a court action for an annulment, as opposed to a dissolution (or divorce) is currently possible, but in any event I don't think that domestic violence would be grounds for an annulment. The remedy is dissolution.
