Q: Can someone face legal trouble for claiming knowledge of a murder on a public Facebook post?

I saw a public Facebook post by someone claiming she knows about a murder her boyfriend committed and got away with. The post doesn't provide any evidence or involve the police. Could she face legal trouble for making such a claim, or would only the "murderer" be in legal trouble?

A charge of aggravated perjury can be brought within 3 years from the date the affidavit was signed under the facts as stated. It will be up to law enforcement and the district attorney's office whether to pursue the charge.
