Do you have a lawyer for this charge? You should get one now if you don't have one already. Tell your lawyer this information. He/she will best know how to use it as it relates to the particular facts of this case.

If the father keeps exposing the minor child to someone who has placed the child in danger, you should consider a modification action to address these issues.

Q: How long do I have to file a lawsuit after an EEOC complaint?

In 2015 I had a mediation with my then employer/boss for sexual harassment & retaliation. I was offered money in the mediation but didn’t take it because I wanted to file suit. How long do I have after such incident to file suit? The man I accused was recently fired for the same situation.

You should contact an experienced employment attorney. A lot of time has passed since the mediation, and it may be too late to file a claim.

Ordinarily, if an EEOC mediation is unsuccessful, the EEOC will begin an investigation into your case.

• The EEOC will give you a “Notice...

Q: A friend of mine became sexual with a professor of hers. Will he be fired for using authority as a teacher over her?

She thinks she may have been manipulated, even though her actions were consensual. He paid her for work in an art studio outside of school time. She began to like him and she started cheating on her boyfriend. This might destroy her relationship; she and her boyfriend have been together for nearly... View More

The professor would not face any criminal charges for a consensual sexual act with a person over 16 years of age unless they are a high school teacher and the student is a student at the same school. Same rules do not apply to college aged individuals.

Sexual intercourse without consent is rape. The inability to consent because of intoxication can support rape charges. Rape has a rather lengthy statute of limitations and if the basis of the ID is from DNA then there is no statutue of limitations, otherwise the statute of limitations depends on... View More

Q: If i have a diagnosis of ptsd from emotional, sexual and verbal abuse from my “ex” husband, can it be used against him?

We are fighting for custody of our three year old that he hasn’t had anything to do with since birth, has a child abandonment charge and is mentally unstable. But I’m mostly curious how/if my diagnosis could play part in protecting my daughter from him getting custody?

The court will most be interested in his relationship with the child. However, if he has a history of abusive behavior, that may be considered in determining how he exercises parenting time.

Q: What can I do?

My father murdered someone in 1979, received life in prison, yet he didn't serve full and I think he should have. He has done so much more after being released that I think he should be punished for. He molested my sister (not his child) and raped me when I was seven.

Contact the District Attorney of the COUNTY or COUNTIES where those crimes occurred. The law in Georgia allows some criminal charges to be filed a very long time after the incidents occurred, when it comes to crimes against children.

If you complain about the harassment (follow your employee handbook on filing internal complaints) and nothing is done or you are retaliated against, certainly, move forward and file a charge with the EEOC.
