$10,000,000. Not to be too flip, but no one would know from what you posted. In fact, an attorney would also not know if you went in and discussed it, since this was basically only 10 days ago. The value of a case is mostly based upon the medical bills and lost income from work, and you simply do... View More

If they get a judgment in excess of your policy limits, they can go after your assets. They would most likely not be able to foreclose on your real property due to multiple owners, but they could place a lien on them for when they are sold. A bankruptcy may be of some use to you if it gets that... View More

It is difficult to know if the injury portion fell below the standard of care. Given you were in the bathroom, most people want privacy, so it might have been OK to leave you there. The other issue is damages, and all you suffered was a concussion, to which you may not have any permanent damages to... View More

If they do in fact start to harass you, you can get a restraining order. You can also in the meantime block them from viewing your social media accounts and block his email.

Q: Can a job offer be rescinded due to an 8 year old chapter 7 bankruptcy? The position is accounting management.

I have perfect payment history since. My credit rating is currently low due to high credit usage due to unemployment and length of credit history. I had awesome credit (760) prior to my bankruptcy. Until September of 2015 my score was 734.

Yes, they can rescind for any reason they want. If they think the credit score is important, then they will.

Q: Threatened to be fired if I do not attend a Union political rally for Hillary Clinton. Legal?

Union in Philadelphia is "requiring" their members to attend a political rally for Hillary Clinton. Is this legal? If I refuse to attend and I'm unjustly fired (which has been implied) will any lawyer be willing or capable to take a case on like this?

I do not think a union can force you to, and they also should not be able to fire you since they are not the employer.

Q: I'll try again. I need some copyright advice. Can I use music that is readily in the PD (movie soundtracks, etc.)

If it is in the public domain, yes, but I fear you misunderstand what PD actually is. Movie soundtracks are not in the public domain automatically anymore than poems. In order for it to be in the public domain, the work needs to have never been copyrighted (assuming other factors are in place) or... View More

Q: I recently signed a work contract with a company, but I wish to leave. I am a 1099 worker, can they sue me?

Non-compete clauses are common in independent contractor agreements. Otherwise you could work for them and take their client list and then go out on your own. So, there is a high probability it would be enforceable, at least in part. Most states though will limit them to reasonable restrictions,... View More

Q: Why might a commercial party not want an agreement to be an enforceable contract?

Sounds like they think they might breach and not want to be held liable. Regardless of their intent, there still may end up being an enforceable contract based on course of dealing and quasi-contract theories.

You would draft a contract, but be careful as you would need to give him legal consideration, and I believe having sex would not count and make the contract illegal. If you want to ensure you have an enforceable contract, sit down with a local contracts attorney.

Police tend to not want to get involved in disputes such as this, unless there is a court order. I would suggest talking with your divorce attorney or the one handling your custody case.

Doesn't matter if the ticket was for speeding or anything else, you were not supposed to be driving. If you did not go to court, they will likely issue a bench warrant, and it will not look good to your PO.

If it is worth that much, find a local attorney to send her a demand letter. A good attorney may also find other things to go after (such as wage and hour violations, final paycheck issues, etc.), and many attorneys will do flat rate work for a simple demand letter.

Not really sure what your damages would be, so hard to judge if it would be worth it. You could report them to the state for this illegal behavior. If they then fire you, you could sue them for retaliation which would be easier to win and clearer damages.
