Q: I cut my pinky finger in an accident and was told Id be okay in a day or two but it ended up being paralyzed permanently

This was 4 to 5 years ago at least I believe and a hospital visit.

It's not too late for you to file a complaint with the police department. It is up to the police whether or not to investigate it. It is up to prosecutors whether or not to bring evidence to a grand jury, get an indictment and charge your brother. You have other options in addition to this.... View More

Q: Do my home’s front stairs require a railing? Home built in 1890’s, current railing is wood and rickety; want it removed

Q: I have a GPS monitor on. It has caused permanent damage to my ankle. Can I sue for damages?

I'm on Interstate Parole. I had a violation and had to go back and serve 90 days. Upon release and arrival back to Rhode Island, a GPS monitor was attached. The first time I had a monitor, it was for 90 days. I did not get any marks then.

I'm not hearing you had medical treatement. Until you get it there is no record showing you have anything caused by the monitor. Once you have that you can ask to have it switched to the other ankle or made so that you can work a sock in between the brace and your ankle.

Your remedies will depend on whether she is a guest or a tenant. If she is a guest, you might ask her to leave if she continues this behavior you find unacceptable. If she is a tenant, you may have to file a formal eviction.

1) you were raped. It's a crime. You should really report that to the police.

2) you may file a civil suit but if the rapist has no money there isn't a civil case that can be brought that won't cost you more.

Charges need to be pressed by the police and /or attorney general's office. A civil suit is possible if it can be shown that it happened at the daycare. Suggest the parents contact an attorney who provides free consultations.
