A Tennessee attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. I hope you're okay after three vehicle flips. In most jurisdictions, you can't cross a double yellow line to pass. There are limited exceptions for turning into lots or streets. But that's only a... View More

You should have been notified of the zoning change. A zoning request might have to made with Williamson County after you examine your local zoning ordinances and procedures. Otherwise hire an attorney to file difficult Declaratory Judgment or Writ of Certiorari suits in Chancery. Owning farms... View More

Do not know what a "farm exemption" is. But you probably mean you want to put the land in the Greenbelt. Go to your Tax Assessor and get the form. Carefully read it, then execute and file it with the Assessor. If not approved, there is not much you can do with only 16 acres,... View More

A Tennessee attorney could advise best, but your post remains open for four weeks. Poor animal must have been terrified. I hope the horse and the occupants of the vehicle are okay. From a textbook analysis, everyone is probably going to be pointing fingers at each other. But for a meaningful... View More

I assume you actually want to incorporate a farming enterprise, with the entity under a corporate name. And yes, the new corporation will have to pay taxes under a new tax id. Whether the land is part of the corporation or not needs to be carefully considered.

Yes, an out of state warrant will get you arrested in another state. It usually happens when a police officer calls in your information during a traffic stop. The police will arrest you and wait for the state who issued the warrant to come get you.

Q: Is a neighbor’s man-made lake allowed to drain on my property? He is at a higher elevation. Tipton County, TN

The lake was built a long time ago before my house was built. When we moved in three years ago, the water was not draining onto our land. Within the last two months, it looks like a river rushing down the side of our property. They refuse to fix their overflow drainage pipe that used to divert... View More

Most likely you have no legal recourse. Unless the overflow pipe was recently damaged and now is destroying your property, I see no cause of action. You might file for an Injunction in Chancery because of the continuing Property Tort. But if it is not causing a massive loss of dirt from the... View More

We aren't paid out our commissions until the client pays. I was not terminated for poor job performance, and I completed most of this particular job myself before I was terminated.

With no contract, you should likely not have liability as long as you were unaware of any issues about the horses health at the time you agreed to the trade. If you did not guarantee or warranty the health of the horse, then I do not think the other party has much of a case here. If you are sued... View More

Sounds like you did a good deed and allowed a friend to leave their animal with you. I am hoping by this time the friend has picked up their animal.
