Q: Does a retired person who is drawing life insurance and social security have to claim any profit on their taxes

Does a retired person who is drawing life insurance and social security have to claim any profit on their taxes, i.e. if they are renting a piece of property or a house and only want to receive cash for rent.

Q: If a person is disabled on disability can they inherit property/money without losing the disability check?

Friends mom passed away she’s next of kin but has to create an estate. Would this affect/take away her disability.

Friend needs to consult with a competent TN attorney, and not announce this on a public forum. And yes he may be rendered ineligible for SSI.

I would call the local Social Security Administrative office in your area. I would not reapply until you speak with them. You shouldn't have to apply again if you have an approval letter. It can sometimes take weeks and even several months to receive payment.

I have done Social Security Disability law in Virginia for 35 years. Grid rule 201.21 does mandate a finding of no disability even though you are reduced to sedentary work and have no transferable skills. Not sure of your question. But Social Security is usually an administrative proceeding, which is not an actual trial. Yes. Disability does not entitle you to break the law, and they will issue warrants for your arrest if you don't pay fines and costs. You may be able to work out a payment plan.

Q: What can I do about attorney signing my name to a document in my social security disability case?

The social security administration informed me about it because she came across another hearing form and realized what had happened. The attorney that signed the paper was no longer representing me in the case at the time that she forged my name.

You should make sure that your current attorney knows of the forgery. You can also report the attorney to the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.

Its not clear what you mean by "your ex"- if you are divorced, your divorce decree should have addressed the issue of child support, and if he is not paying the child support, you can file a petition for contempt through your divorce lawyer or through the child support enforcement office... You can dismiss this lawyer. However, he or she may file a lien against your benefits. You can also check with NOSSCR to find a qualified lawyer in your area. You can also report this attorney to your state bar association which is supposed to police the ethics of lawyers in your state.
