The best person to assist you in this matter is your own lawyer; that having been said, valuation in Bankruptcy is not the replacement costs but more likely the depreciated costs. Accordingly, is a "used" pet worth $800, or something less (don't be romantic about this), and is a... View More

The first thing you need is a lawyer. You need a lawyer that represents small business who can guide you through the hurdles of setting up an LLC, obtaining permits and licenses, and all the stuff that goes along with being in business.

Mr. Denison is correct
Bankruptcy is a federal statute enacted by the Congress of the United States. The only variables, as he says, are the exemptions (stuff you can keep), but you should consult your own lawyer to determine which choices are the best for you
I want to file for bankruptcy. I think i was a victim of a scam. I have not filed my taxes for 2020 and 2021 and know that I owe $140K for 2020 and will owe for 2021 and 2022. You should go see a good bankruptcy lawyer because you sound like a candidate for relief. On a board like this individualized advice is impossible.
When you go to the lawyer be prepared to complete a questionnaire that will list all your assets and all debts. Your best tax relief can come... View More

Under the circumstances, you describe I would sell and move. You need direct advice from a tax guy, but you a reasonable period of time to reinvest to avoid capital gains.
Do you have a county sheriff or local constable? If you are in the county there is some county-wide law enforcement body.
Servicer says since it was in bankruptcy I am not liable for the debt but I signed a modification and have been paying for 3 years. So exactly what does that mean??

I agree!
How long was your 13 plan and did you complete it?
Credit reports have little if anything to do with bankruptcy other than to report your filing--if they do. Credit report issues should be addressed with the reporting bureau
Hypothetically. It is not murder to kill an animal, unless endangered. So killing a canary, wolf or non-human species is not murder?

As Barbara queries, it depends on which of the types of obligation it was at the time of the discharge.
