A Louisiana attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. Only a local attorney could advise about state-specific health and consumer protections. But as a general matter, I believe law firms would be reluctant to handle such a case. I hope your baby is okay and... View More

What kind of belt is it that it needs? Is the vehicle an old model? There does not seem like a valid reason for your vehicle to be in the shop for 9 months. Is there any more information you can share that will help provide an answer to your question.

A Louisiana attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. Your post does not indicate that you suffered damages. If you did not sustain injury, there would not be a basis for you to sue. Having standing to sue would require injuries. And if you did suffer injury, it... View More

Q: Is it legal for my girlfriend to get my vehicle towed from the place where we both live because she was mad at me?

I legally still live at her place, and she called the tow company and told them that she didn't know who the vehicle was for.

If you legally lived there, and she caused it to be removed she is liable for the costs of recovering it. Whether police will accept a complaint is a different thing. If you have registration showing it was yours for some time, she knew that, then they might.
