Government Tort Liability Act cases are difficult, time sensitive and have damage caps. Few lawyers know how to file and try them. Four days of jail will not be worth much, and nothing if an underlying crime conviction was involved. I would not take a GTLA case for a wrongful VOP.

Thank you for the question. I'm sorry; however, there is really not enough information to provide you with an accurate answer. I guess my question is why did you not turn in an Order of Protection then? You can still go to the local courthouse and file for an Order of Protection. I think... View More
We called an ambulance for our grandmother who was in severe pain, having breathing issues, and had not eaten in almost 3 days and the medical team that came to our home told us that her breathing was OK and her lack of eating wasn't anything to worry about at her age (87). A Civil Rights Action is a federal case which must be filed as a Government Tort Liability Action (1 year SOL; no jury; caps on damages). Few lawyers even know what kind of suit is required. Start with personal injury attorneys here on Justia, as virtually no criminal attorneys can handle it.

If you have insurance, notify them today of the wreck and claim. If no insurance, expect to lose your TNDL, and hire an attorney to represent you. When served, you might also file a Notice of Exempt Property if you are not rich, which should curtail the plaintiff's enthusiasm. An Answer... View More

The value is impossible to determine from these facts alone. Assuming strong liability and other positive factors, the insurance company is not even in the ballpark.
