Banking institution cards ( credit , debit ) and committed felony theft by way of using stolen identity to steal pandemic unemployment benefits. Suspect arrested , bonded out, yet still haven't had a court date. Has been about 2- 3 years .. is there a time frame for getting this to court?

Q: My former employer opened a prepaid debit card in my name 3 weeks after my employment ended what can I do about it?

I asked them to close it and was told it would be closed the next day but the card is still being reloaded and used. I never received a card the whole time I was employed there and I did not authorize them to open a card in my name after my employment.

For $700, maybe. A data breach like that only gives rise to liability if someone else uses that data to harm you economically in some fashion, for instance by getting and using a credit card in your name.

It will be up to the discretion of a judge if they permit bond. However, your alleged crime is not one that poses substantial risk of physical harm to others, so it is likely they would let you bond out, unless you have prior charges other than identity theft.

You should go to the bank directly and speak with the branch President and explain what happened and see if they can reverse the charges. If the number on your caller ID is a Synovus Bank number, they may be more inclined to investigate the matter and possibly reverse the charges.

The person who deposited the check in my account forged my signature. The loan was for $901.70.

Possession of a forged card is a crime if there was intent to defraud someone. The use of the card is an additional crime of financial transaction card fraud, also a felony.

your problem is likely with the credit reporting agency. You need a consultation with a lawyer who handles cases under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
