I workout at a 24hr fitness in California. A manager approached me and wanted to talk to me. In his office, with a front desk employee listening he said a member that was a minor filed a report that I sexually harassed them. Also they accused me of taking photos or videos of them. Unfortunately, this Q&A site is not a place where you can ask attorneys to work for you. No one here should respond to your post with an offer to do so.

I am not sure if there are official statutes covering these two civil wrongs. There is a plethora of case law and relevant jury instructions, though. See California Civil Jury Instructions (CACI) 1600 and California Civil Jury Instructions (CACI) No. 1501. Wrongful Use of Civil Proceedings.

Q: If I only require lmtd scope rep. and I'm willing to pay full price for the same lmtd scope rep., why will no one help?

Unfortunately, nothing is simple in law. Everything is costly.

I am certain a lawyer would only file in your name and not as an attorney of record.

However, the lawyer opens himself up to legal malpractice when he does that. If the lawyer doesn't get everything you said...

unless you have seen a doctor b/c of this .....it doesn't sound like a PI case.

you can contact a civil lawyer, but they may bill you for a consultation and hourly for legal work.

maybe contact your Union or your boss or a labor law attorney.

It sounds like you are in need of a good workers compensation attorney who can be allowed to learn all of the facts of your situation and protect you through the workers compensation process. Not sure what you want to deal but probably to expensive.

You may be thinking of expungement.

However there has to be a plea or conviction.

Sealing is a lot more difficult and I suspect a judge of Gov would be involved.

It would be very difficult to find a lawyer to go after the governmental actors but you might find some who would help you to sue the security guard. Do you know why he was lying? What was his motive? You might not be able to hold his employer responsible but the evidence could lead there. Not... View More

Your brother can sue. You and your mother can sue for bystander emotional distress, if you were there when your brother was shot. The success of such a case depends on the circumstances of the shooting. If the shooting was justified (self-defense, for example), there is no case. A lot will... View More

Q: Is it slander if a coworker lied to my employer and got me fired?

A coworker told my employer I lied about taking time off to go to a dentist appointment. I have proof I went to the appointment. Keep in mind, I put in my two week notice a week before I was fired and this has happened to countless other employees of this business.

Neil Pedersen

That may be slander, but if you were going to leave in a week anyway, there would not be enough in damages to make a slander lawsuit worth the time and money it would take to bring it. As to the other employees, their individual situations would have to be assessed.

Good luck to you.

More info needed.

1st you must find a tort lawyer who agrees to take your case on a contingency... that usually means a lawyer must invest his/her own money.

To go to trial could possibly be $25,000 to $100,000 in costs for the lawyer and involve weeks or months in trial.

Q: Only when I got into an accident my car’s SRS light turned on. Would I be able to sue car company?

Impact was so bad that I am bruised from my seatbelt, and I do not bruise easily. Shouldn’t the SRS light be on prior the accident? Since the light turned on doesn’t that mean my airbag should’ve deployed? I called company and looked up online and there are no open recalls on my vehicle.

if you can prove breach of contract or negligence, the amount is probably way to small to sue a large corporation.............and what did they do wrong? How did the accident happen.

they would choose to spend the money to fight it.
