Very definitely. Look for an attorney who handles traffic citations. If the crash wasn't your fault you have a claim for your injuries and should contact a member of the Hawaii Trial Lawyers Association--they give free consults.

Q: Can my employer count my vacation eligibility time from post-pandemic-layoff rehire date rather than original hire date?

I began work Nov. 2019, and was "terminated" in March 2020 due to pandemic-related business downturn. I was rehired in June 2020, although I was not required to take a drug test again or submit my driving record again. I would have been eligible for paid vacation Nov. 2020, but now they... View More

Well, if they give you a raise it looks like they are not having it both ways. Your vacation time is usually based on time accrued and does not count time off for personal days, family leave---or when you are laid off.

Year to date money means just that. If you were paid x dollars then...

It is not defamation or slander if the conversation is between the two of you. Defamation and slander require that there be some public statement. Do not, by the way, discuss this on facebook or any social media--that's where people get into trouble!).

All the best.

You are entitled to be paid for the work that you did. Even if it's half a job, you're entitled to half a job.

Your choice--is it worth taking her to small claims or not?

Next time: you see something, photograph it at the time.

Assuming he is a minor, you can go to the social security office with him, with appropriate ID and something showing you are the mother (pediatrician record, school record) and get it. If he's an adult he needs to go get it.
